4 COURSE STRUCTURE The Fashion Industry employs a huge diversity of skilled people. If you have an interest in any aspect of the industry - designing, marketing, styling, costuming, buying, setting up your own business - this course will give you the qualifications and folio to apply for entry into a Diploma or Certificate IV course at other tertiary institutions. Aims This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve competencies that will enhance their employment prospects in the clothing or clothing related industries. It also aims to enable participants to gain a recognized credential and make a more informed choice of vocation and career paths. 5 UNITS OF COMPETENCY Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology This qualification aims to give students an introductory overveiw of fashion design. It also includes a series of units targeted at unique fashion and textile designs. The course consists of 7 core and 4 electives Units of Competency, delivered over a two year period.
