15 Step 5: COVER LETTER First paragraph: why you are writing? State the specific position you are applying for and where you found out about the job. Second paragraph: a brief personal introduction and why you would be good for the position. Third paragraph: explain you are enclosing your CV and mention your availability regarding time and location for an interview. Finish the letter by thanking the person for his/her time.
16 FINISH YOUR RESUME FIRST. WRITE YOUR COVER LETTER AFTER WHEN YOU WANT TO DECIDE WHAT YOU DIDN T SAY THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID IN ADDITION TO YOUR RESUME. DO! Write the letter in formal business style Be specific with name and title when possible (if not use: To whom it may concern) Reflect your individuality Use blue ink to sign your name to show the document is original Make your sentences brief DON T! Be overbearing (sell yourself too much) be humourous be too familiar repeat what is in your resume
