2 Training and Assessment Strategy p2 of 7 Units of Competency To achieve recognition the candidate must demonstrate competency in all aspects of skills required. These modules form the certificate IV qualification. All 7 core units and 3 elective units must be completed to gain the qualification. This qualification assumes that the learner is engaged in a training and education environment or has a vocational skill at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which it is intended to teach. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include: Enterprise trainer Enterprise assessor Registered training organisation (RTO) trainer RTO assessor Training adviser or training needs analyst Vocational education teacher. Entry Requirements Customisation There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. Customisation of this course will occur if required by the client cohort. Customisation of resources or assistance is given to students with special needs. Customisation may also occur according to the electives chosen to be specialised in by the client cohort.

3 Training and Assessment Strategy p3 of 7 Learning Needs Learners must understand English, must be able to write (complete forms etc) in English, and have Literacy and Numeracy skills relevant to course requirements or arrangements can be made for assistance. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL/RCC) RPL recognises that people who already the knowledge and skills required for competency in various units or modules of an accredited training course should not be required to re-learn what they already know. The process of RPL takes into account that various competencies can be acquired through: previous qualification work and life experience The main focus of RPL is on the performance criteria in the various units of the course, not how, when or where the learning occurred. Hence there is no distinction between formal and informal learning. To gain the full qualification you must complete all 7 core units and any 3 identified elective units as stated in the course structure. Learners must also demonstrate application of skills and knowledge on-the-job. Learners would achieve this by completing the units and applying them on-the-job through the various assessment activities. An Evidence Portfolio also supports the RPL process by providing documentation relevant to the competency of each unit. 5 Training and Assessment Strategy p5 of 7 Delivery Delivery Organisation The program runs over a period of days. is committed to providing participants with flexible arrangements in their learning by taking their personal situations into consideration so as to (a) maximise learning outcomes, and (b) to optimise access to learning activities. There is a pre- training checklist that details the resources that are required and should be available. There are learning resources provided to students which include all material used in the training sessions. Training premises are located at head office, 32 Wairoo Street, Burleigh Heads. Delivery of training will include: face to face, use of learner guides & generic information, handouts, training demonstrations using relevant equipment and resources. The program is designed to be delivered either on- and/or off-the-job, in a group situation, one-on-one or by distance learning. It is expected that in the development, adaptation and delivering of this training and assessment the RTO must meet the requirements of: 1. Elements/Performance Criteria set for each module 2. AQTF Standards Participants are provided with generic knowledge and skills relating to working in Vocational Training and Assessment areas. The knowledge and skills gained by successful completion of this training program will assist the student to operate competently within this environment. RTO personnel will be available for assistance to the participant for the duration of the training course. All staff, including full time, part time, and casual staff involved in the delivery and assessment of this qualification, have direct access to the current version of the relevant Training Package, including the appropriate units of competency, assessment guidelines and qualification structure. All staff involved in delivering the program have access to the trainer, assessor and candidate support materials relevant to their areas of delivery and assessment. All assessors have access to print and electronic copies of the assessment tools used in this program. has access to staff and training/assessment resources to meet the requirements of candidates with special needs and have an assessment process that incorporates reasonable adjustment procedures. has reviewed the equipment and facility requirements for each unit of competency in the qualification and has access to the materials needed to implement the program.

6 Training and Assessment Strategy p6 of 7 Assessment Strategy Assessment is the gathering of evidence of competent performance. The assessment strategy will be valid, reliable, flexible, fair and consistent. Both practical and theory assessments are conducted in a classroom environment and simulated work areas. Assessments are collected on a number of occasions over time through formative and summative activities as per the learning guides set down for each unit of competency. All participants are issued with assessment booklets for both home and classroom learning. All records of assessment including: Knowledge (Written or Oral), Papers, Evidence Portfolio, Assessment Feedback will be retained for the period stated in the AQTF Standards (Standard 3.3). Procedure for Issuance of Certification: This procedure will be undertaken within 21 working days of the assessment requirements being met. Minimum Delivery Hours TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 60 hours Nominal Evidence Gathering Validation/Moderati on of Assessment will use a range of techniques to gather evidence to support a decision that a person has achieved competency in relation to the units of competency addressed by this guide. These may include but are not limited to: demonstration/observation, oral questioning, interview, written tests,portfolio, scenario/problem solving tasks and video taped evidence. will conduct a validation of this course with an external trainer/assessor and an AQTF consultant on a regular basis. In order to ensure compliance with training industry requirements the RTO will consider the following aspects as part of the assessment validation process: People who conduct the performance and written knowledge aspects of assessment have met requirements for an assessor, vocational competencies. Assessment must include as a minimum the achievement of competence to the standard specified within the Training Package. Additional requirements may need to be achieved to comply with the AQTF requirements including employability skills. The assessor utilised the up-to-date version of the Training Package. Development of internal and external moderation strategies to consider feedback from industry and regulator perspectives to support quality training and assessment outcomes. Areas to be Addressed Infrastructure (AQTF 9.4) In order to meet any specified Training industry regulatory requirements, Excelr8 Training Solutions will apply and use current versions of the all documents. All staff involved in the delivery and assessment of this qualification has an assessment process that incorporates reasonable adjustment procedures for learners with special needs. has reviewed the equipment and facility requirements for this qualification and guarantees it has access to resources necessary to implement the programs. Physical Resources Required EXCELR8 Training Solutions has all necessary equipment needed to perform all tasks required to perform competency but where the RTO utilises equipment owned by other persons than the RTO it will have documented partnership arrangements.
