Pre-Employment Screening Employment screening is a critical part of the hiring process and with ever increasing employment legislation it has never been more important to make informed recruitment decisions. Each employee in your organisation has a direct impact on the businesses integrity, reputation and profits. Hiring the wrong person can be an expensive mistake, the average cost of a bad hire is 2.5 times that persons salary, further more it is reported that over 30% falsify details on CV s and application forms. 3 Alpha In the military Alpha stands for Possible threat For GLS, this is the most basic check level we offer designed for the lower level employee, it safeguards against the employer receiving misinformation from a potential candidate and ensuring their work history is complete and accurate. Checking Documents (Passports, Certificates, Licenses x3) Identity Check and Right to work (verified ID check using Authentication products, cross checking information to ensure accuracy) Past employment verification (we don t go by number of employers instead understanding that someone can have several positions in a short timescale our ten year* approach is the safest yet. Bravo Bravo indicates a potential threat and is our next level check as the more senior the position or sensitive the business the more careful an employer needs to be. Bravo includes everything that Alpha offers and digs just a little deeper, verifying education, professional qualification / memberships and basic credit background particularly useful for financial services firms. Or business dealing with financing on a regular basis. Everything Alpha offers and; Career Gap Verification (handy for those unexplained breaks in employment) Verification of Education and Grades (Secondary, Graduate and Post-Graduate) Professional Qualification Verification (We go straight to the source) Charlie Charlie (imminent threat) is the highest level check we offer, suitable for all employees but particularly used for finance based positions and senior appointments, directorships, signatory and compliance roles. 5 We aim to have all checks completed within 18 days the quickest provider in the CI because we understand the necessity of screening but also the need for an employment process to run smoothly, in a competitive market where decisions often need to be made to keep your business ahead of competitors and it s own schedule. Throughout the pre-screening process GLS liaise direct with the candidate, collate all necessary documents and details, providing the client with a full final report and individual copies, saving you and your business time effort and outlay. Service Document Checking Description & Explanation Document checking is required for the Identity check, GLS will liaise direct with the candidate, request all required documents and provide a copied pack for the client normally these include but are not limited to: Passport and / or Visa, Registration Card / Right to work (Jsy / Gsy), Proof of Address, Marriage certificates, Education / Professional Qualifications Identity Check Past Employment Verification Using specialist 3rd party software provides clients with a risk based score indicating the degree of confidence in the individuals identity. Our unique *ten year approach means you can be confident that a candidates employment history has been thoroughly checked and verified: We request employment dates, salary, position and attendance record. Career Gap Verification Professional Qualification Jersey / Guernsey Credit Checks Criminal Reference Basic Disclosure Sometimes gap s can show up in employment and it s not always ok to take on face value the reason for such breaks. GLS will explore and investigate such gaps to verify their purpose Going direct to the source GLS s relationships with providers of professional qualifications means we can verify the authenticity of professional qualifications and memberships. Local checks will reveal any Petty debts judgements taken over the last ten years This check details any convictions considered to be unspent under the rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974). This check is available to be carried out on any person for any position with consent. For Standard and Enhanced checks please contact us. Sanctions and PEP s Checks for sanctions, enforcements and warnings in the UK and Worldwide, this includes individuals suspected to be affiliated with terrorism, money laundering, fraudsters, trafficking, white collar fraud and others as well as Politically exposed persons. Adverse Financial Check Financial Services Check (FSA) UK This service checks publically available data including 6 million CCJ s, bankruptcy's and voluntary arrangements. Also checks for detrimental data at linked addresses that may not have been previously disclosed by the candidate. For FSA regulated persons, the FSA register check will reveal currnt status, disciplinary any current JFSC / GFSC Check Desastre Check Checks if a candidate is listed as a restricted persons under the Jersey / Guernsey Financial Services Commission. Bankruptcy (Desaster) Jersey Law 1990 came into force in 1991 this checks all declerations en desastre made sine enforcement of the legislation.
