4 SOURCES OF DATA COLLECTION For preparation of this project entitled Employee Satisfaction process in NALCO, I have collected different data and information through primary source by preparing the questionnaire & information thereon & through personal interview with different officials in HRD Department of NALCO. As regards the secondary source, I have gone through different brochures, magazines & website of the company. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This project gives an over view of Employee Satisfaction Process in NALCO. How general process of satisfaction of employees is managed for Steel & Aluminum industry. Information of various criteria s planned and formulated before the selection process is initiated. Project provides an insight of various strategies developed to fill in all the manpower recruitment and selection is for growth and development of an organization. This project gives us an understanding of policy and philosophy of NALCO in the field of human resources and management. This study also gives us ideas as to how NALCO s Management takes initiative for continuous process improvement along with steps and phases of the same. However, this project has various constraints as there is some confidential information which the company does not want to reveal. All study is based on interaction with HR executive and data provided by senior HR Manager of NALCO. Special thanks to NALCO Management and HR department for cooperating with the Bhubaneswar Institute of Management and Information Technology for completion of the project. 4
5 ConClusion Every organization having strong willed and efficient manpower can always hope to reach the zenith of success. Only for this purpose the needs and wants of an employee is needed to fulfill for which the employees performance must be effective. I am conducting survey on executives and non-executives. So throwing light on analysis it reveals that the executives are not highly satisfied but some extent satisfied with the policies and procedures provided by the organization. The nonexecutives are satisfied with the job profile, working environment, pay scale provided to them. SUGGESTION For a successful function of employee satisfaction the following recommendations should be taken into consideration:- The communication between subordinates and superiors must be improved. Co-operation between different departments must be there. The Unionization activity should be avoided. It must have to provide a better work-life balance. It must have to have the higher educated employees for the promotion to their prospective levels. 5
