1 LICENCE TO OPERATE A VEHICLE LOADING CRANE (CAPACITY 10 METRE TONNES AND ABOVE) TLILIC0012A This course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to operate a vehicle loading crane with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more, mounted on a vehicle for the principle purpose of loading and unloading such a vehicle and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to apply for a High Risk Work Licence Class CV. The course consists of theory and practical training, and requires participants to complete reading tasks, written assessments and calculations. DATE TIME VENUE COST See below for all dates 8.00am 4.00pm (AM) or 5.30pm 8.30pm (PM) Master Builders Skills Centre, 1 Iron Knob Street, Fyshwick, 2609 $790* (rate after rebate) $1,230* (Payment is required seven days prior to the course) *Cost does not cover the application fee for a High Risk Work Licence Up to 70% of the course cost may be refundable to eligible applicants through the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (TFA). For eligible learners the TFA rebate is factored into the pricing structure. REQUIREMENTS Participants must wear steel capped safety footwear during training and assessment Participants must provide 100 points of identification and be a minimum of 18 years of age English language skills sufficient to understand both written and verbal instruction A basic understanding of mathematics is required which includes multiplication, subtraction and division. Additionally students must be able to use a calculator Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment (attached) to be completed prior to confirmation of your enrolment CONTENT Compliance with WHS licensing legislation Communicate and work safely with others in the work area Identify hazards associated with the operation of the crane and put in place effective hazard controls for those hazards identified Conduct pre-start-up, operational, shut down and secure checks of the crane according to procedures Operate the crane and move loads safely, including driving and manoeuvering, picking up and placing of loads HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE Training provided by Southern Training Organisation CERTIFICATION On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0012A Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above). LICENCE APPLICATION Successful participants are required to lodge an application for a High Risk Work Licence with Access Canberra within 60 days from the issue date of the Statement of Attainment.
