2 About CorSpective CorSpective was founded by Barb Dusek to focus on creating workplace experiences that everyone can enjoy. Our target audience sits in the manager's chair. We bring our speaking, coaching, and workshops to managers to build their confidence in leading and engaging their employees. Happy managers, productive employees! About Barb Dusek Possessing an accomplished expertise in leadership education, management team development, and employee relations, Barb is a vibrant speaker, energetic workshop facilitator, and insightful leadership coach. In the many years that I ve been part of the business community, even while a student in school, I ve seen ordinary people positively manage others. Managers, please hear me, you have the potential to influence satisfaction in the workplace. Encouragingly, Barb One of the keys to understanding the foundation of who we are is to get clear about what we value. What we truly value is expressed in our actions and is closely associated with our personal passions and individual purpose. Together, values, passion, and purpose create motivation for us to get moving. To get a sense of what you currently value at work, and in life, complete The Values Sorter exercise. You will see several words listed on the next two pages, each with a description that accompanies the word to offer you a definition. Scan through the list of words quickly, circling those words that resonate strongly with you. When finished, go back through the list and reduce your choices to a short list of ten words. List your top ten in the space provided. Review your top ten list slowly. Concentrate on which words truly define what you value, at this time, in your work life. Reduce the list again, from ten words, to three. Inside your top ten these three words represent what is primarily most important for you. It is among work activities, when these three values are present, where you will find your greatest satisfaction.

What parts of your job are aligned well with your values? Where do you feel a sense of dissatisfaction? You may not be able to shift job roles or responsibilities quickly or even easily.
