Application materials will be accepted through February 17, Screening will begin on or about April 2, Applicants are asked not to contact school board members except as requested 6. Successful candidate is to be selected in May to begin work on July 1, 2012 SALARY AND BENEFITS The salary for the Superintendent will be determined by the professional preparation, administrative experience, and other qualifications of the person selected. 3 CHARLES A. BEARD MEMORIAL COMMUNITY Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation is a consolidated school corporation covering square miles. It includes Wayne and Greensboro Townships in southwest Henry County and Ripley Township in northwest Rush County. The location is approximately 45 miles east of Indianapolis on US 40. The communities of Knightstown, Kennard, and Carthage are included in the school corporation. The corporation is made up of three elementary schools, one intermediate school, and one high school. The total student population is Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation has a reputation for providing a quality education of students. Charles A. 4 QUALIFICATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA Candidates for the position should possess the following basic qualifications: Valid Indiana Superintendent s license or a letter of eligibility from the Indiana Department of Education Successful building and central office administrative experience building principal, central office administrator, assistant superintendent or superintendent Have a proven track record of being an effective motivator High ethical and moral values, dedication to the welfare and growth of all students, and active in school and community affairs An extensive working knowledge in the areas of curriculum, budget and finance, staff development, evaluations, and collective bargaining The ability to define, develop, implement and evaluate short and long term educational goals Commitment to continuing professional development Effective skills in public relations and communications Strong organizational skills Knowledge of Indiana school law Page 4 of 10
