Discover more at Key facts Duration: 3-12 months Entitlements: monthly grant, accident and health insurance Allowances: accommodation or rental allowance; travel costs on appointment and termination Specific programmes: certain traineeships come with more specific features (e.g. the European Banking Supervision SSM Traineeship includes mobility in up to two other European countries), or more specific objectives (e.g. fostering gender diversity) Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany Traineeships at the ECB Being a trainee at the ECB offers you the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge you acquired during your studies and get a better understanding of what working for Europe entails. As a trainee you will gain an insight into the ECB s activities and contribute to the ECB s mission. The tasks performed by you as a trainee are supervised by a mentor and vary according to the unit you join. Some examples include: conducting research. producing reports. compiling statistical data. supporting colleagues in performing certain operational tasks. participating in ad hoc studies. Who can apply If you are a student (including PhD students) or a recent graduate you can apply for a traineeship. You should: be at least 18 years old be a national of a Member State of the EU or of an acceding country have completed at least a first cycle qualification (bachelor s degree) be fluent in English and in another official language of the EU Following your most recent qualification you should: have a maximum of 12 months professional experience have been a trainee for no more than six months not have been an ECB trainee or have worked for the ECB previously

Discover more at The ECB s Graduate Programme The ECB's Graduate Programme is aimed at highly talented recent graduates with a postgraduate degree, preferably a PhD, in a field of interest to the ECB, e.g. banking and finance, law, IT or engineering. The Programme represents a unique development experience for participants as they: have the opportunity to acquire on-the-job knowledge in at least two business areas have access to a tailor-made training programme (in-house and external training opportunities) receive regular feedback and guidance, including three performance reviews per year receive individual support via mentoring Key facts Duration: 24 consecutive months Programme content: two challenging one-year assignments in two different business areas of the ECB, concluding with an own project paper Entitlements: competitive salary and benefits, pension, accident and health insurance Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany Who can apply Programme applicants must meet the following requirements: hold a master s or PhD degree, completed not more than two years prior to the closing date for applications, in a field of interest to the ECB (candidates with a PhD degree will have a distinct advantage) have a general interest in central banking activities and particular interest in a broad range of functional areas of the ECB have an advanced-level command of English and a working knowledge of at least one other official language of the EU
