Our Vision, Let s enjoy the art of hospitality in a sustainable world! 4
Hospitality with a vision Enjoy the art of hospitality! Feel the enjoyment to provide the art of hospitality... We have strived for over forty years with this ethos and we encourage our team to be creative, effective and sustainable when it comes to interior design and hospitality. Hospitality based on sustainability, experience & enjoyment Our unique furniture collection is the key to enable our customers to create their desired hospitality atmosphere. Indeed, people feel more comfortable in a pleasant environment, performance is enhanced and perhaps most importantly for our clients, fosters increased sales and regular customers. We are committed in working with you and your customers to experience hospitality - to feel it and to enjoy it... Enjoy the art of hospitality in a sustainable world! 6
Our Mission To continuously work towards the development and marketing of a complete furniture collection for hospitality, enabling the wellbeing, performance and efficiency of all stakeholders to increase. To ensure the focus remains on experience and sustainability 8
Furniture with a mission Cafe Care Education OFFICE Leisure Retail Satelliet is constantly developing new furniture. We cooperate with our (inter) national partners, customers, designers and our suppliers. These products are applicable in our defined markets. Specifically in those areas where people experience hospitality. Our mission is to provide the perfect product to our customers, so their guests have a pleasant stay and what ultimately increases the wellbeing and sales. The perception of the client and his guest are of great interest in the proposals we make, with constant consideration of sustainability of the product and the service we provide. 10
This is our responsibility! - Satelliet stands in the heart of society and is aware of its influence on society and the environment. - We acknowledge our responsibility for a sustainable future so that future generations can continue to meet their needs. - We share our standards and values with suppliers which enables us to increasingly offer sustainable solutions. - We use the principles and core themes of ISO 26000, the internationally recognized guidelines for CSR. - Our responsibility focuses on social, ecological and economic terms: People Planet Profit. 12
Why have we chosen ISO 26000? ISO is an international standard for CSR and provides practical guidelines for companies and organizations. ISO is comprehensive and future-proof and is in line with the existing international conventions and guidelines such as the Declaration of Human Rights. cradle to cradle ISO 9001 OHSAS ISO is not a standard counting requirement, such as the process-oriented standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, but goes a step further and includes themes as respect, transparency and ethical behaviour. UN Universal declaration of Human Rights ISO 9004 ISO
Who are we doing this for? These are our stakeholders, all have in our opinion, as well as us, interest in our efforts in CSR. DEALERS Direct customers Industry organizations Suppliers Local government SATELLIET meubelen Employees Shareholders Temporary employees architects Foreign partners Inspirium partners Citizens and local residents 16
Getting started with ISO How does Corporate Social Responsibility become integral to our organization? Where do we start? ISO has principles and core themes have been identified. These give direction to our CSR policy and inspire us to appoint focus areas and priorities. ISO helps us to determine the route to a realistic plan that applies over several years 18
7 principles 1 Accountability 2 Transparency 3 Ethical behaviour 4 Respect for stakeholder interests The international standard for corporate sustainable responsibility 5 Respect of legislation 6 Respect for international norms of behaviour 7 Respect for human rights 20
7 core themes Focus areas are: 1 Management of the organization 2 Human rights 3 Working environment 4 The environment 5 Fair Trade 6 Consumer affairs 7 Involvement and community development 22
Where are we at this point? ISO on a daily basis Before we started ISO corporate sustainable responsibility was already a topical theme for Satelliet. For many years we have been investing in sustainable solutions for the production of our furniture and we enthusiastically provide our contribution to projects of particular social importance. They re inspiring examples which will be shown and proudly be called as our icons. An adequate example from daily practice is the Norms and Values range of Satelliet. Entirely produced by the employees and for the employees of Satelliet. 24
Icons of Satelliet Furniture GPC Our technicians offer a General Periodic Check on your furniture. For this purpose we developed an unique checklist, the Furniture Check. Through timely and professional maintenance of the furniture, the life of the furniture is considerably extended. A sustainable solution for your interior and terrace. 26
Icons of Satelliet The Colour Kitchen Celebrating diversity, together we can make a difference in helping people who are looking for a second chance, by educating them in our commercial environment as cook, host or hostess. 28
Icons of Satelliet Satelliet design challenge Design competition for students, who will become acquainted with the daily practice. A link between business and education. 30
Icons of Satelliet Resysta the future wood The future wood: the ecological alternative to tropical wood, made out of rest material, such as rice hulls, mineral oils and rock salt. 60% rice hulls 22% rock salt 18% mineral oils welcome to our sustainable terrace 32
taking the next step together When we can share our responsibility of Corporate Sustainable Responsibility, we can achieve real profit. By working smarter, there will be an advantage in social, environmental and economical terms: People Planet Profit. Working smarter and achieve, profit,. Consider reducing the amount of waste by re-using packaging or use of protection blankets. Alternatively by giving the guarantee that we take the old furniture of our customers in return, which can be re-used or sustainably recycled by us. We will constantly remain alert to new initiatives, so we can work together to build a sustainable future! 34
