1 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FACILITIES WORKER Hourly Rate: $10.00 Closes: October 25, 5:00 PM This recruitment is to fill a Temporary, Part-Time position in the Public Works Department. Employees must be willing to work a rotation schedule for after-hour support, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a part-time position with no guaranteed number of work hours and has a 29-hour work week maximum. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, and any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position which includes some knowledge of equipment, materials, methods and procedures used in the maintenance and clean-up of City roadways, parks and facilities. Special Requirements: Must possess a valid state driver s license prior to hire date. Selection Process: Applications and supplements will be reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be placed on an eligibility list. From this list, applicants may be selected to be interviewed by an oral board and/or further testing. 3 PAY GRADE: 700 EEOC CODE: 08 FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt REVISED: 01/09/17 STATEMENT OF THE JOB Performs a variety of unskilled physical labor and clean-up of City roadways, parks and facilities by performing maintenance duties such as cleaning restrooms, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, maintaining roadways and surrounding facilities to ensure areas are safe and clean. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS City of Bullhead City Facilities Worker Reports to: Supervises: Coordinates with: Field Operations Manager, Roads, Parks or Building Foreman. N/A All Public Works staff, City employees, and the public as appropriate or as directed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.) Assists with and performs a variety of unskilled duties in the maintenance and cleaning of City roadways, parks and facilities. Performs cleaning of offices, equipment, sidewalks, patios, restrooms and drinking fountains utilizing various manually operated tools. Performs general clean-up work which may include raking, weeding, washing windows, walls and sinks, restrooms; sweeping sand and debris from patios and slabs, play areas, raking, mopping and vacuuming floors, and dusting.

4 Facilities Worker (Part Time) Page 2 Works with assigned crews, removing weeds, trash and debris while maintaining landscaping. Picks up trash and checks trash cans throughout the City. Operates a two-way radio. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Complies with and promotes safety practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program. Performs other related duties as assigned. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES None. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: Good work habits and safe work operations; knowledge of equipment, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance and cleaning activities. Skilled in: Operation of the listed tools and equipment. Ability to: Perform manual tasks for extended periods of time; to work safely; to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; coordinate the movement of more than one limb simultaneously; bend, stoop repeatedly; work in small cramped areas, walk over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; move debris, dirt or other material using a shovel, rake or other tools; move objects of 50 pounds or more long distances; work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements that include extreme heat. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Motorized vehicles and equipment, including common hand and power tools, shovels, rakes, brooms, mops, mobile radio, phone, ditch witch, and other small hand tools. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
