Director of Education, Education and Alumni Managers at EIT Health e.v. and Education Officers at other CLCs; EIT Health e.v. operational staff (specifically staff at the project management office, PMO) Contract: Full-time (This post is subject to the sufficient allocation of grant and statutory funds from EIT Health e.v. to EIT Health UK-Ireland which is reviewed annually) Secondments and/or requests for job sharing or part-time appointments will be considered. Location: Paddington, London (UK) or EIT Health UKI partner campus/location (with regular national and European travel being required) Background: EIT Health a new Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) designated by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is focused on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and education in the domain of healthy living and active ageing. EIT Health brings together leading organisations along the entire value chain from smaller companies to larger industry, excellent academic and research institutions, as well as public sector organisations, to promote healthy living, support active ageing and improve healthcare by removing barriers to innovation, promoting talent and education, leveraging enabling technologies and exploiting big-data. As an EIT-designated KIC, EIT Health can utilise European Commission/EIT funding and leverage the resources of its partner organisations in order to achieve its goals. EIT Health headquarters are located in Munich (EIT Health e.v.) and regional activities are implemented across a network of co-location centres in six cities: Paris, London, Barcelona, Rotterdam, Stockholm and Heidelberg/Mannheim. Those co-location centres are the base to EIT Health s 140+ partners, some of

2 which are located in some of Europe s growth regions Hungary, Wales, Poland, Portugal, Croatia and Slovenia and are collectively referred to as the INNOSTARS with a base in Budapest. EIT Health comprises 3 pillars: INNOVATION (Projects), BUSINESS CREATION (Accelerator), and EDUCATION (Campus). EIT Health Innovation projects build on multidisciplinary collaboration of EIT Health non-academic and academic partners and are driven by societal challenges within the thematic scope of EIT Health. The ultimate objective of the projects is the rapid market penetration of innovative products and services. The EIT Health Accelerator creates an ecosystem where innovation can thrive. It gathers the best and brightest health industry entrepreneurs, and provides them with the support, skills and services that they need to get their ideas off the ground and into the market. EIT Health CAMPUS is EIT Health s brand for excellence in education, which supports students, professionals, executives and citizens in the transformation of health and healthcare by establishing a group of change agents with the necessary knowledge, skills and connections to lead the radical transformation that is needed. Purpose of the Role: The EIT Health UK-Ireland Co-Location Centre (CLC) is looking to appoint an Education Programme Manager UK-Ireland who will support the growth and improvement of the EIT Health education offerings. Main Responsibilities: As the Education Programme Manager UK-Ireland you will: - Support the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Director, CLC staff and CLC Education Representative(s) in their activities related to CAMPUS at the CLC and/or the European level (incl. organising meetings with CLC partners, preparing presentation materials, etc.) - Support EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Partners in the development, consolidation and implementation of EIT Health CAMPUS project proposals (incl. identifying and developing new ideas, identifying suitable collaborators at other CLCs, understanding calls and criteria, supporting the drafting of proposals, etc.) - Act as first point of contact for education-related enquiries from CLC partners and work collaboratively with the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Director, CLC staff and CLC Education Representative(s) to advise and support CLC partners in proposing activities - Proactively engage with all EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Partners (academia, industry and public sector) to help identify and define project requirements and partners needs in order to develop new education opportunities, ensuring EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Partners are involved in the highest number of education activities possible - Collect EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Partners requests and motivations, and communicate these within the EIT Health UK-Ireland partnership and throughout Europe, as well as creating interactions and opportunities for partners to communicate these themselves - Work with the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Business Creation and Innovation Managers to align activities across these three pillars - Support the EIT Health UK-Ireland Communication Lead in branding and marketing activities related to EIT Health UK-Ireland s educational programmes, and contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the EIT Health Campus offerings in the region - Support the recruitment of CAMPUS participants to the Alumni Network, and support the development of local Alumni groups where the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Director/CLC Education Representative consider this beneficial - Contribute to other activities to support the efficient and effective delivery of the EIT Health UK- Ireland CLC office as agreed with the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Director and/or the EIT Health UK-Ireland CLC Education Representative(s) The Main Objective:

3 The main objectives of the post are: - to support the CLC Director, the CLC Education Representative(s) and the UK-Ireland partnership in the local implementation of EIT Health s education strategy - to build strong relationships within the local education ecosystem and function as bridge between academic & non-academic partners within the UK-Ireland CLC - to be the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding the EIT Health education portfolio as it applies to the UK-Ireland CLC - to connect UKI CLC partners to EIT Health partners in the other CLCs - to support the CLC Director and the CLC Education Representative(s) in aligning the UK-Ireland CLC education activities with those in other CLCs (e.g., cross-clc ideation meetings, thematic meetings/online platforms) - to support the integration of the knowledge triangle across the region and beyond The Post Holder: - should be prepared to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe often on short notice - will have experience working in health education and education programme management - will have a sound understanding of the UK and European research and innovation environment, with particular reference to health - will have suitable experience working in complex and innovative environments, cross culturally in an international and/or public-private environment with a proven ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders - will be able to work with a high level of independence and display professional levels of confidentiality.. 4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Education/Qualifications: Relevant academic degrees at Masters level or higher in a relevant health or science discipline and/or equivalent professional experience/qualifications Professional, specialist or managerial qualification and/or equivalent experience Skills and Abilities: High level (international) project management skills, with a good understanding of the complexities involved in developing and delivering project outcomes Experience and ability to work with an international team and in a multidisciplinary context Ability to manage a set of deliverables, identify opportunities for improvement and growth, and setting and managing standards of delivery in order to support the cost-effective and targeted delivery of the Education activities programme Proven ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders Personal integrity, a high level of self awareness and confidence Proven interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation skills - particularly in writing - and ability to present complex issues; Analytical and able to resolve problems Ability to produce clear and concise written material. Ability to developing educational and/or marketing/promotional materials considered an advantage. Demonstrated ability to present and explain complex information from multiple sources to partners and staff at all levels to develop a clear argument/support a proposal Ability to perform effectively under pressure with excellent personal organisation and time management Ability to prioritise and manage a variety of tasks and to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed Excellent analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as required Knowledge and Experience: Substantial project management experience from major academic and/or industrial undertakings. Experience in both the private and public sector considered an advantage. Knowledge of and experience in the health education and education programme management Good understanding of UK, Ireland and European research and innovation environment with particular reference to health. Administrative/Managerial experience of EU innovation, education and/or entrepreneurship projects (e.g., H2020, SME instrument and others) considered an advantage
