This is set in the context of human resource management principles and practice as currently applied within organisations. Module aims - intentions of the module Module aims The module will cover the essential elements of HRM and their implementation in the organisations. It draws substantially on HRM concepts, theories and practices from different industries to facilitate understanding of the issues and concerns that are applicable to them. It will explain and clarify how an informed, well-structured and participative approach to people management can deliver substantial benefits to all stakeholders: employers, employees, shareholders and clients. Intended learning outcomes (ILOs) ILO: Module-specific skills 1. Explain, discuss and apply the professional areas related to the management of yourself and others when working in teams

2 including approaches to leadership and the management of change ILO: Discipline-specific skills 2. Use the skills of reflection, critical autonomous thinking and self-directed access and application of knowledge ILO: Personal and key skills 3.
