Transcription
1 Payroll Tax Associate Provide overall accounting support including computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete. Assist in the management of tax-related calculations, remittance of payments from clients as well as the research and resolution of tax-related issues on behalf of Tilson and/or the client. The Payroll Tax Associate may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Recommended Education Level: Associate's Degree (or other 2-year degree) Recommended Experience Level: 1+ Year(s) Essential Functions Assist with the processing of tax notices; create and update tool kit tickets, as needed; organize exiting tickets for the Payroll Tax team including but not limited to maintaining tax file folders. Process completed Powers of Attorney (POAs) including but not limited to reviewing POAs for accuracy with associated Tool Kit Tickets, and submitting POAs to the appropriate tax authority. Assist with the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax filings. Maintain quarter-end checklist. Assembles, records, enters, and files a variety of financial, accounting, and statistical information. Other duties as assigned. Processing Information: Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data. Documenting/Recording Information: Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
2 Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge: Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job. Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events: Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events. Performing Administrative Activities: Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Knowledge Economics and Accounting: Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices. Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, ratios, percentages, statistics, and their applications. Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Language: Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with individuals both inside and outside the organization both verbally and in writing. Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Law and Government: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.

Abilities Mathematical Reasoning: The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem. Number Facility: The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly. Information Ordering: The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Deductive & Inductive Reasoning: The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense as well as the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). Written Expression & Comprehension: The ability to read and understand information and ideas as well as communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Oral Expression & Comprehension: The ability to listen to and understand spoken words as well as communicate ideas and information via spoken words. Speech Clarity & Recognition: The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person, as well speak clearly so others can understand you.
