2 Organizational Profile The Regina Airport Authority (RAA) is a not-for-profit authority that manages the safe and secure operations of the Regina International Airport on behalf of the surrounding communities. RAA's local Management Team oversees the day-to-day operations and development of Regina International Airport. The airport is situated on the west side of Regina on approximately 1500 acres of land. The terminal itself is small enough to be convenient, yet has undergone extensive improvements and upgrades to ensure it offers its passengers and visitors an array of services and amenities. The Airport accommodates two runways; its main runway is 7900 feet in length which is long enough to accommodate wide bodied aircraft, and its secondary runway is 6200 feet in length. RAA s Mission: "To seamlessly connect people and business to a world of experiences and opportunities". RAA s Vision: "Saskatchewan's leading travel gateway and business hub". In 2016 the Authority posted its highest ever recorded passenger count of 1,262,899, despite the tough economic climate this was an increase over the previous year also saw assets increase by 17.4% to $150,018,000 reflecting significant capital investment activity. The RAA has identified 5 strategic goals that it will focus on over the 5 years. These goals include: exceptional customer service experience; grow our business; operational excellence; sustained financial strength; exceptional people doing an exceptional job every day. The future is bright for the RAA with substantial capital investments planned through 2021 and for the first time in decades an inventory of airside and groundside lots will be available for development. Both the Board and Management are well prepared for continued growth in this fast paced sector. 1

3 Position Description President and Chief Executive Officer The President and CEO is responsible for the safe, secure and efficient leadership, operation and administration of the Regina International Airport within the statutes, bylaws, policies and parameters established by the Board of Directors of the Regina Airport Authority and its committees. The President and CEO holds the key leadership and decision making position, accountable to the Board to develop, recommend and monitor the strategic plan and to successfully implement corresponding operational, business and capital plans and supporting initiatives. The CEO is the formal link between the Board, management and staff. Reporting Relationships Reports to: Direct reports: Board of Directors Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer Vice President, Operations Director, Communications, Customer Service & Marketing Corporate Administrator Director, Planning and Development Responsibilities The President and Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the following: Vision and Strategy Develop and recommend the strategic plan and implement operational, monitoring and reporting policies and practices within the limits prescribed by the Authority s Bylaws and the strategic framework and direction adopted by the Board Provide timely, accurate and complete information to the Board to enable it to discharge its obligations and meet its governance and legal responsibilities Establish and implement succession planning for executive and management positions Develop, recommend, and implement a risk management strategy with associated policies, processes, and practices to manage risk and report progress to the Board. Ensure clarity of organizational goals for employees Allocation of Resources Participate in and oversee the development, coordination and implementation of the Authority s business, human resources, environmental, and capital plans. Ensure the creation, compliance, implementation and integrity of the Authority s internal control and management policies, practices, procedures and processes Seek Board approval for expenditures, revenue measures, leases or other actions or transactions falling outside of Board approved guidelines Ensure compliance with the Authority s environment, health and safety policies and practices and all statutory and regulatory requirements Direct and monitor the activities of the Authority to ensure the assets of the Authority are safeguarded and optimized 2

4 Organizational Culture/Team Building/Leadership Establish a strong, active and open working relationship with the Board Foster and personally exhibit a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and encourages individual integrity and social responsibility Oversee all airport operations and provide the necessary team leadership and management of all Authority activities Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Participate as a liaison and spokesperson in activities that involve media and public relations on behalf of the Authority Manage and oversee communication between the Authority and the public and act as the principal spokesperson for the Authority Develop and recommend to the Board the overall corporate organizational structure Candidate Profile Priority Criteria A university degree in business or related field and/or a combination of formal education and career experience Recognized leadership performance and management success A record of accomplishment in the airport/aviation industry would be a significant asset Prior experience working closely with boards of directors, union environments, multiple committees and stakeholder groups would be considered an asset Competencies and Attributes An innovative leader with a record of accomplishment in a dynamic industry or rapidly changing business environment Financial acumen a thorough understanding of the financial dynamics in a successful operating company An impeccable sense of integrity, character, and personal values, coupled with ambition and drive One who possesses excellent judgment and the ability to deal with competing demands Superior interpersonal skills a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions, and employs an open, clear, and succinct communication style A recognized strategic thinker who can deal with the issues of the day while, at the same time, being able to see the big picture A results-oriented and decisive individual The knowledge, presence, and contacts essential to establishing credibility and gaining support from various stakeholder groups Seasoned negotiation skills and a diplomatic demeanor A visionary who can see trends impacting the industry A very effective, people-oriented leader with a reputation for successfully attracting, mentoring and motivating managers and employees 3
