2 Making the transition to management requires a new set of skills and competencies so you can create an environment of mutual trust, respect and open communication with the employees you now lead. As hospitals and health systems seek the best and brightest, your role as a manager cannot be understated. Managers have a significant role in an employee s decision to join or leave any organization.

3 The 2017 IHA Management Institute will guide you to peak performance by developing your management skills through an interactive five-session program. 4 INSTITUTE CURRICULUM The five sessions will build upon each other for an integrated and comprehensive management development experience. Fieldwork will be assigned after each session to reinforce the learning and application of new skills, and will be reviewed at the beginning of each subsequent session. Lochner is an accomplished coach, facilitator, college professor, keynote speaker and author. He coaches leaders to leverage effective goalsetting, organizational planning, people development and process improvement to achieve desired results. A West Point graduate, Lochner spent his 11-year military career leading soldiers in challenging environments around the globe. He then spent 18 years in corporate leadership positions ranging from front-line management to senior executive management. Laurie E. Cohn, Principal, RPC Leadership Associates, Inc. Cohn is co-founder of Aspire Consulting, Ltd., and a certified business coach. Her passion and experience come from her successful 34-year career in healthcare. Cohn managed people and systems, and had administrative, operational and fiscal responsibilities for several nationally recognized clinical departments and programs. Susan L. Lauer, Principal, RPC Leadership Associates, Inc. Lauer is co-founder of Aspire Consulting, Ltd. During her successful 25-year career in healthcare, Lauer held numerous leadership positions and managed personnel and systems. She has taught at the graduate level and has written for national, regional and local publications on leadership and strategic planning.

5 ASSESSMENT AND COACHING ASSESSMENTS You ll complete the DiSC Index Assessment and receive a full report of your results before the second session. This assessment will uncover your behavioral style, as well as your communication and learning styles, which are essential to leading a team. You ll also complete a pre- and post-test assessment before the first session and after the fifth session to track your development. Individual coaching will be available by phone after the third session for oneon-one expert feedback on your progress. Up to two hours will be available per participant. Springfield sessions will be held from 10 am to 2:45 pm and will include lunch. You must select one location for all five sessions. TUITION IHA members First three registrants from a hospital/health system: $1,495 per person Four or more registrants from a hospital/health system: $1,195 per person Non-members First three registrants from an organization: $1,995 per person Four or more registrants from an organization: $1,795 per person Tuition includes program materials, assessments, up to two hours of individual coaching, refreshments and lunch during each session. Continental breakfast at the Naperville location is also included. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the registrant. IHA will provide information on discounted hotel lodging available during the program. Cancellations after August 15, 2017, will be charged 50% of the registration fee. Registrants who do not cancel and do not attend are liable for the entire fee.
