The Bank has restructured the organization and efforts are underway to build regional capabilities and bring responsibility for client activities to the regions; change the Bank s culture by improving performance management and inculcating a new culture of accountability, and streamline all Bank processes to improve the Bank s efficiency and effectiveness. In this context, the Organization and Methods Division is seeking the services of a highly qualified consultant for a period of six months, starting January 15, The consultancy will be based at the Bank s Headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The consultant will be tasked with providing technical writing, project management, and analytical support to the Organization and Methods Division. The Organization and Methods Division is located within the Senior Vice Presidency Complex. Its mandate includes leading the establishment and implementation of suitable internal organizational structures, systems, processes, and procedures for the effective implementation of the Bank s strategic objectives. This is in support of the Senior Vice President s responsibilities relating to ensuring organizational efficiency and effectiveness, driving a performance culture that will align all processes and systems to deliver high impact results; and providing effective leadership and exceptional coordination to ensure implementation and monitoring of key corporate decisions as well as the identification of necessary corrective measures and actions;

2 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the manager, the consultant will be required to Provide research, analytical, and writing assistance in support of the division s work program Ensure effective, efficient and speedy editing of documents Conduct research, define position requirements, draft position descriptions and vacancy notices; Track implementation of the Division s projects Document processes, standards, or guidelines as necessary Develop online documentation, draft guides, manuals, brochures, etc. Assist with planning and scheduling division activities and projects; and Provide other assistance as necessary to deliver the work program of the Division. SELECTION CRITERIA At least a Masters degree (or equivalent) in communication, journalism, linguistics, international relations, or related area, with relevant experience; Nationality of a Bank Member Country; Working experience, in particular, recruiting experience with an international organization; Knowledge of the African Development Bank and its operations would be a plus. Six to ten (6-10) years relevant experience; Mastery of English, with expert knowledge of French; Solid writing skills; Excellent analytical, multi-tasking, and assessment skills; Knowledge of editorial policies and practices of the Bank ; Knowledge of AfDB priorities and terminology; Mastery of Bank standard software, in particular, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Languages required; Flexibility, integrity, professionalism, respect for diversity and a strong team player; Superior documentation and organization skills; Knowledge of Africa s development challenges and business environment. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SHORT LIST: A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end of the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume.
