Dear Members, In the age where ups and downs in the Indian Industry has become very common, it is very much imperative for the Indian Industry to adopt Total Productive Maintenance TPM, as the tool for becoming competitive and challenge the down trend while building on the upward trend. Companies have been successful in getting 8-12 times the returns on their investment through the rigorous practice of TPM. Under this background, the 12th TPM National Conference, the flag ship event of, is being announced by the Board of TPM Club India on 6-7 September 2012 at Hotel Le Royal Meredian Chennai. TPM National Conferences have been traditionally a place for the companies to gain information on the following: Know what is happening in other companies that can be adapted How successful TPM can be by the new companies who are to venture into the practice of TPM and A place to network and discuss the success stories. Last year, we celebrated 40 th year of TPM and 20 th year of TPM in India. We had Father of TPM, Mr Seichii Nakajima addressing the delegates through video conference. He gave insights into TPM and the way forward. This year, we are planning to get one of the senior practitioners, Mr Tokutaro Suzuki who has spent more than 45 years to the development of TPM; author of many books on TPM and a good friend of to address the participants. The results of the 2011 TPM award winners of JIPM TPM, Japan were announced in January With this result, we have in India 144 companies with 201 awards. CII counsellors have been supporting 47 companies with 54 awards out of this list. This is a remarkable achievement. The board of compliments all the companies for their achievement. Some of these companies would be sharing their success stories at this very important TPM National Conference. TPM National conference has been designed to benefit Indian Industry. We have eminent speakers from Indian industry and overseas to share their experiences at this conference. We have conducted 2 kaizen conferences this year. The 5 winners of each of the conference would be competing for the National Best. The winners would be taking with them the Kaizen Championship Trophy and Sona Kaizen Award. We wish all the competing companies to put forward their best. Through the TPM National Conferences, we are spreading the concept of TPM across the Indian industry to become competitive.
