Each topic of study consists of two compulsory assessment components: Part A: Written assessments Written assessments focus on the application of knowledge to practical real-life scenarios. This enables students who are currently working to contextualise their assessment to their specific workplace. For students who are not currently employed, a comprehensive industry-based case study is available for alternative assessment arrangements. Part B: Workplace Supervisor Checklists Students who have access to a workplace during their study period, are required to obtain agreement from a manager or supervisor to undertake the role of a Third Party Workplace Supervisor. The role of the workplace supervisor is to support the student s learning and monitoring the completion of workplace tasks identified in the workplace supervisor checklists. This will involve the review and sign off of six checklist forms - each relating to the topics studied. The Third Party Reports will form part of the student s portfolio of evidence to be used by an AHRI assessor to assess competence in the relevant units of competency. Note: workplace supervisor / manager does not have to work in HR in order to complete the workplace supervisor checklists. Where students do not have access to a workplace supervisor, an alternative assessment can be arranged.
