1 Organizational development specialist (Manhattan) The Jewish Board of Family and Children s Services ( The Jewish Board ) began over a century ago as a network of volunteers bringing food and clothing to poor Jewish families. Today, the Jewish Board is one of the nation s largest and most comprehensive mental health and social service agencies providing support and care for people of all faiths, races and cultures. The Jewish Board serves over 30,000 New Yorkers annually at over 50 locations throughout the five boroughs and at a 125 acre campus in Westchester. The work of the Jewish Board is built upon the professionalism and compassion of 3,200 employees, including professional social workers, family therapists, licensed psychologists, and psychiatrists. A corps of 200 dedicated volunteers supports the staff to help ease the burdens that strain and disrupt the lives of the Jewish Board clients promoting recovery, resilience and self-sufficiency for individuals and families at every stage of life The Organizational Development Specialist (OD Specialist), under the direction of the Director of Organizational Development, will provide change management support, training, and consultation to staff working with people with mental health, substance use, psychosocial and intellectual/developmental challenges in community-based, day, residential, and child welfare systems of care. The OD Specialist, with the MKS Educational Institute (MKSEI) team, will help the agency to plan and implement changes in policy, procedures, and practice, and will support the agency in implementation and integration of mission and strategic plan. The OD Specialist will develop customized training materials and execute plans for sustaining practice and evaluating trainings. The OD Specialist will also participate in all MKSEI endeavors. RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: 1. Training a. Create and deliver evidence-based training packages to teams and/or individuals (within Jewish Board and across the larger social service/behavioral health community) in at least one intervention area such as: i. Motivational Interviewing (MI); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT); Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR); Child Parent Psychotherapy
2 (CPP); Brief Therapy; Shared Decision Making; and other relevant and emerging evidence-based practices b. Create and deliver training packages in family engagement and treatment, recovery oriented practice, substance use, cultural competency, LGBTQ competencies and capabilities, health literacy, and/or trauma informed care c. Create and deliver training packages in other areas relevant to schools, care management, child welfare and behavioral health services 2. Case, Team, and System Consultations a. Provide clinical and system consultations to support competency and ensure integration of training into daily agency practice, with a focus on site-based supervisory development and practice improvement strategies, including sustainability planning, outcomes monitoring, and quality improvement support b. Assist in the development of program or division model of care and deliver training and consultation supporting model of care implementation, sustainability, and the monitoring and use of outcomes 3. Development of Materials a. Create training tool kits and fact sheets to support centralized and site based learning b. Contribute to webinar creation c. Identify new areas of relevance to agency practice and competency building 4. Participation in other MKSEI endeavors such as a. Training Evaluation b. Crisis Consultation c. Supervisor, Milieu, and In-Service Training REQUIREMENTS: (1) Master s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Organizational Development with a minimum of four years of relevant experience with best practices (2) Two years in the supervision of behavioral health staff or project management preferred. License to practice preferred. (3) Documented evidence of excellent training skills (4) Experience in evidence-based practice with at least one treatment. Supervisory and training experience in above interventions a plus. (5) Availability to work during set agency training times and travel to training sites necessary, along with capacity to train within agency standards. Certification in CBT, knowledge and skills in the area of cultural competency training, crisis response, and fluency in Spanish are useful. VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY: The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc. Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT The work environment involves no physical risk or hazardous conditions. The Training Specialist will also work with the MKSEI team to develop educational materials. RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Training a. Create and deliver training packages which provide both core competencies and enhanced skills for all client-facing staff at the Jewish Board. These include, but are not limited to the following offerings: i. Safety in residential and field settings; risk assessment & mitigation; recovery oriented practice; substance use assessment & intervention; cultural competency; LGBTQ competencies and capabilities; trauma informed care; basic child development and related interventions; health literacy; and family engagement.

Create and deliver training packages to teams and/or individuals (within Jewish Board and across the larger social service/behavioral health community) in at least one evidence-based model of intervention such as: i. Motivational Interviewing (MI); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT); Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR); Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP); Brief Therapy; Shared Decision Making; Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS); and other relevant and emerging evidence-based practices. 1. Create and deliver training packages in other areas relevant to schools, care management, child welfare, residential, and behavioral health services 2. Case, Team, and System Consultations a. Provide clinical and system consultations to support competency and ensure integration of training into daily agency practice, with a focus on site-based supervisory development and practice improvement strategies including sustainability planning, outcomes monitoring, and quality improvement support 3. Development of Materials a. Create training tool kits and fact sheets to support centralized and site based learning b. Contribute to webinar creation 4. Participation in other MKSEI endeavors such as a. Training Evaluation b. Crisis consultation REQUIREMENTS: (1) Bachelor s Degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience with clinical and/or residential practices. Master s Degree or Doctoral Degree in related fields and license to practice preferred. (2) Documented evidence of excellent training skills. (3) Experience in evidence-based practice with at least one intervention. Supervisory or training experience in above intervention a plus. (4) Availability to work during set agency training times and travel to training sites necessary, along with capacity to train within agency standards. Certification in CBT, knowledge and skills in the area of cultural competency training, crisis response, and fluency in Spanish are useful. Experience working with Child/ Adolescent Residential, Adult Housing and/ or clients with developmental disabilities is highly preferred. VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY: The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc. Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
