To advise on the programme philosophy for TV News and programmes and to propose regular reviews and updates taking into consideration the public service remit of the MBC.
2 To ensure that the MBC delivers its News bulletins and programmes in line with the MBC Act and the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act. To ensure that News bulletins and programmes cater for the cultural diversity of the audience with particular emphasis on quality content and delivery. To prepare budget for TV News and monitor the expenditure thereof. To manage the human resources of the News Department including identifying training needs and proposing programmes to motivate staff in the News Department. To advise, implement and evaluate a code of ethics taking into account the values of impartiality, independence and accountability vis a vis all stakeholders. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Director of News in the roles ascribed to him. Responsibilities: To be responsible for the production, selection, preparation, channeling and Scheduling of radio programmes (general and oriental). To lead and manage the Radio Department. To monitor the transmission of programmes on all radio channels, including programmes broadcast in Rodrigues including outer islands. To ensure that radio programmes: (i) are delivered in line with the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation Act and the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act; and (ii) meet the needs and aspirations of the public taking into consideration the sociocultural and religious diversity of the audience. To advise on the selection and ordering of radio programmes (local and international) as well as music.. To collaborate with the Marketing and Events Department and facilitate the commercial aspect of radio programmes. To coordinate links with local, regional and international audiovisual organisations. To manage and monitor the human resources, the budget and assets allocated to the Radio Department. To identify staff development requirements and prepare training strategies in relation to the activities of the Radio Department. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Director of Radio.

To be the primary contact with socio-religious and linguistic partners for the design of special programmes relating to the promotion of language and culture. To ensure that MBC has got the appropriate rights and clearances for the broadcast of TV Programmes and which are in line with the MBC Act, the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act and any other relevant Legislations. OR At least seven years' relevant experience. To manage and lead the Finance Division. To direct and control the accounting functions and practices of the Mauritius
9 Broadcasting Corporation. To monitor and evaluate the budget control process and propose and implement improvements. To evaluate internal control systems/ procedures, and prepare/ finalise audit reports with a view to highlighting the shortcomings and implementing necessary recommendations. To interact and coordinate with external auditors and provide them with all necessary statements and schedules required during the conduct of audit. To formulate budgets and conduct variance analysis to determine difference between projected & actual results and implement corrective actions. To develop and implement policies and procedures that maintain the confidentiality of all information processed. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Finance Manager. 10 To establish internal audit policies and procedures. To be responsible for the setting up of an adequate internal control system in matters relating to finance, accounting, purchases, transport and other operations. To submit a monthly report on internal control findings, make recommendations for corrective measures and ensure implementation thereof after approval. To analyse audit findings and ensure remedial action where applicable. To undertake special investigations as directed. To maintain adequate documentation and recording of all internal control work. To maintain close communication links with Heads of Departments and Auditors to ensure coordinated action. To counsel and guide subordinate staff. To formulate and maintain adequate administrative procedures. May also be required to provide secretarial services to the Board. 12 To be responsible for developing and implementing human resource policies, practice and procedures to meet the evolving needs of the Corporation and ensuring that they reflect all applicable laws, regulations and best practices. Formulate and maintain adequate administrative procedures. To plan human resource requirements in conjunction with Heads of Departments and Divisions. To establish systems and procedures for performance management and reward schemes. To conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and ensure proper evaluation and effectiveness of training. To ensure that (i) well-defined disciplinary procedures are established; and (ii) employees' grievances are attended to at all levels. To advise and assist management in handling labour matters and to represent the Corporation on industrial tribunals and courts. To oversee: (i) the setting up of Safety and Health programs; and (ii) the organisation of welfare activities.
