1 Mobile County Personnel Board / Training Office April 1, A Schedule of Training Activities Supervisor Training Leads the Way - Spring 2015 The selection of programs this spring offers a line-up of classes that will help both new and experienced supervisors alike. Different presentations will occur in April, May and June on a variety of topics. You may choose one session to attend or a combination of sessions. Each presentation will have two topics per day from which to choose. We encourage you to choose both sessions to fully benefit from the presentation. The spring line-up of programs offer new program content with a variety of speakers and topics. To ensure your place in a class, we ask that you submit the training request by the deadline date. We invite you to review the presentations below and complete your request to assure your place. Effective methods for dealing with disciplinary issues will be covered along with the steps involved in pre-disciplinary hearings. Each person brings to the job knowledge, skills and abilities based on one s own life experiences. As such, these experiences often reflect certain generational values and attitudes. In this session, we will discuss how perceptions, both accurate and inaccurate, are formed the research on generational differences (which commonly-held beliefs are accurate) ways to combat age stereotypes and increase collaboration

Flagger Traffic Control Training Many of our system employees work on the streets and roads of our county daily and are exposed to various hazards. Due to the nature of the environment in which they work every precaution to maintain their safety and that of the public must be taken. To provide instruction in this area, two training sessions are scheduled in May to address flagger traffic control. Lectures, videos and hands-on exercises will emphasize work zone safety, flagging and traffic control, use of proper procedures and equipment. Contact your supervisor about attending. Learn to protect yourself and others. Accident Report Accident Investigation Many of us do not want to consider the possibility of being involved in an accident; especially, not on the job. Unfortunately, accidents do occur regardless of the precautions we take. When such situations happen, it is important to handle the incident by properly gathering information, documenting what took place and completing an accident report. Join us in May to learn what steps to take when an accident occurs. Topics include: Accounting Fundamentals Accounting II Effective Business Writing Grammar Refresher Every Day Math (Refresher) These courses are instructor lead via the internet with two lessons sent weekly.
