6 MASLOW S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS If the needs at the bottom of the pyramid are not met, people cannot be focused on the higher level needs. Shows the importance of workplaces and jobs that enable people to fulfill the physiological, safety and security, and belonging needs. Then challenging and supporting people to work at the higher levels.

10 SELF-TALK Situation: You are working on a new project,and it isn t going well. Negative self-talk: I am so stupid! Why can t I get this? It seems like the harder I try, the worse it gets. I am just no good at this. I might as well give up.
11 SELF-TALK Positive Reality: I have finished projects like this before and with good quality results. I know that I can be persistent and improve my skill. I have been successful before, and I will be this time, too.

WE NEED TO GIVE EACH OTHER SPACE SO THAT WE MAY BOTH GIVE AND RECEIVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL THINGS AS IDEAS, OPENNESS, DIGNITY, JOY, HEALING, AND INCLUSION. MAX DEPREE LEADERSHIP IS AN ART
