3 ABOUT RECRUITEX ABOUT RecruiteX is the recruitment index for India. It is an analysis identifying the hiring activity and trends in India Inc. Based on tactful extraction and examination of jobs posted and applied for in a month, it details recruitment as a process backed by hiring sentiments of a recruiter and aspirations of a job seeker. METHODOLOGY RecruiteX represents the demand aspects of recruitment. Demand for talent is computed by factoring activities of recruiters on TimesJobs. com. This demand is integrated with numbers collected by our offline team and then segregated according to top industry verticals, functional areas and locations. The base value for the index has been kept at 100 for the month of December All RecruiteX values for subsequent months represent the trend of RecruiteX viz-a-viz December RecruiteX, in its most comprehensible format, is aimed to provide a detailed insight of the recruitment market in India to employers, recruiters and job seekers alike.

5 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Amid a 7% slump in talent demand, accounting, tax and consulting sector reported rise during April Delhi NCR was the most active hiring location TALENT demand dropped by 7 per cent during April 2016, reveals the latest RecruiteX, the recruitment index by TimesJobs. com. None of the top sectors witnessed any rise in talent demand during April Accountingtax/consulting and recruitment/ placement agencies were the only sectors to report a rise in talent demand during the month. Architecture/interior designing were the only profiles to report a rise in demand while accounting & finance profiles witnessed stable demand. Delhi NCR was the only metro to report a rise in demand. Indore posted the highest rise in talent demand followed by Lucknow. Among states, Karnataka (except Bengaluru) topped the demand index. Hiring dropped across experience categories, barring candidates with over 20 years of experience.
6 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Overall, hiring reported a drop during April Key employment sectors and functional areas contributed to the drop in talent demand DEMAND Accounting/tax/consulting posted 18 per cent rise in hiring activity. Talent demand also rose (2%) in recruitment/placement agencies. Architects/interior designing profile reported 3 per cent rise in demand. Accounting & finance professionals witnessed stable demand. Among top ten locations, Delhi NCR witnessed a 3 per cent rise in talent demand. Among states, Karnataka reported a 20 per cent rise in demand. 80 Demand for talent 76 April April 2016 The April 2016 demand index was inactive for candidates across experience categories except candidates with over 20 years of experience. This was the only category to witness a rise (2%) in demand.
7 RECRUITMENT TREND BY INDUSTRY Demand reported a drop across most of the key industry segments. Accounting/tax/consulting and recruitment/placement agencies were the best performing industries during April 2016 Market Average Mar Apr Mar 2016 Apr 2016 Accounting/tax/consulting registered the highest (18%) rise in hiring. Since January 2016, it has posted an average 3 per cent rise. Automobile sector posted a 12 per cent drop in demand. Petrochemicals/oil & gas saw a 9 per cent drop in hiring activity. IT/telecom, retail and manufacturing sector saw a 7 per cent drop in demand while BFSI sector posted a 5 per cent drop. IT/Telecom Manufacturing & Engineering BFSI CRM/CallCentres/BPO/ITES /Med.Trans Consumer Durables/FMCG Retailing Petrochemicals/ Oil and Gas/ Power Automobiles/Auto Component/ Auto Ancillary Projects/Infrastructure/ Power/Energy Healthcare/ Biotechnology/ Pharmaceutical
8 RECRUITMENT TREND BY FUNCTION During April 2016, demand fell across key functional areas. Architects/interior designers were the only profile to post a rise in demand during the month Market Average Mar Apr Mar 2016 Apr 2016 IT/Telecom Engineering Accounting & Finance Sales/Business Development Banks/Insurance/ Financial Services Marketing & Advertising Customer Service/ Tele Calling HR/PM/IR/Training/ T&D Logistics/ Supply Chain Management/ Procurement Entertainment/ Media/ Journalism Architects/interior designers reported a 3 per cent rise in demand. Accounting & finance professionals saw stable demand. Customer service professionals witnessed 21 per cent drop in demand while logistics/ supply chain mgt reported 11 per cent drop. Entertainment/media/journalism professionals saw 10 per cent drop in demand while hospitality posted 7 per cent drop.
9 RECRUITMENT TREND BY LOCATION Demand witnessed negative hiring momentum in most major locations during April Delhi NCR was the only metro to post a rise in demand Market Average Mar Apr Mar 2016 Apr 2016 Delhi NCR 65 Mumbai Bengaluru Chennai Among top ten locations, Indore reported 14 per cent rise in talent demand. Lucknow posted 11 per cent rise in demand. Delhi NCR was the only metro to witness a rise (3%) in talent demand in April Bengaluru posted the highest drop (8%). Pune Hyderabad/ Secunderabad Ahmedabad Vadodara Chandigarh saw 17 per cent drop in talent demand followed by Pune with 16 per cent drop. Hyderabad posted 12 per cent drop. Maharashtra (Except Mumbai and Pune) Kerala
10 RECRUITMENT TREND BY EXPERIENCE Talent demand was low across experience categories. Senior-level professionals with over 20 years of experience were the only category to witness a rise in talent demand Market Average Mar 2016 Apr 2016 <2yrs 2-5yrs 5-10yrs 10-20yrs 20yrs+ Mar 2016 Apr Candidates with over 20 years of experience was the only category to report rise (2%) in demand during April Candidates with years of experience reported the highest drop (8%) in talent demand during the month. Candidates with 5-10 years and less than 2 years of experience posted 6 per cent drop in demand.
