1 EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM 2017 APPLICATION PACKAGE

2 WCM 2017 EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM REACHING HIGH POTENTIAL WOMEN EARLY Retaining top talent is a critical issue in our industry and we believe that identifying high potential women early is the key to building a healthy pipeline of leadership. WCM s Emerging Leaders Program provides mid-level professional women with a valuable professional development opportunity that will help them plan their careers, equip themselves to compete for progressively more senior roles and break through to the next level in their careers. This six-month program builds on the success of our Executive Coaching Award program and offers women with five to 10 years of capital markets experience an integrated personal and group executive coaching experience with our esteemed coaching partner, Felix Global Corp. The program includes a personal assessment, group coaching sessions, skill building sessions and two individual coaching sessions. To date, 40 women have completed the Emerging Leaders Program and have moved on to great successes in their careers. ELIGIBILITY To be considered for the WCM Emerging Leaders Program, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria: Candidates must be currently employed in the Canadian capital markets* and have five to 10 years of experience in the industry. Candidates must be employed at a mid-level position and apply with the support of their firm. Candidates must be a member of WCM in good standing. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION Demonstrates a commitment to career development as exemplified from the attainment of progressively more senior roles. Emulates the vision and objectives of WCM. Demonstrates an ability to take leadership roles and overcome obstacles. Exemplifies the characteristics of business leadership. * Capital markets activities include the structuring, issuing, buying, selling, managing, analyzing or trading on the primary, secondary, over-the-counter or private markets any short-, medium- or long-term debt obligations, fixed income, equity securities, currencies, or any derivatives thereof. (WCM By-laws, Definitions 1.01 (e) ) 1

3 CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES Candidates must be able to commit to completing the pre-work and be available to attend group sessions over a six-month period from September 2017 to February Once the winners are selected, a program guide will be provided to outline the time period and expectations between the winner and Felix Global Corp. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Application Form Please complete the application form (see page 3) and include it as the first page of your application. Resume Please attach a current resume. Letter of Recommendation Include a signed reference letter from a senior level executive in your firm endorsing your potential for leadership and advancement within the firm and/or industry. The letter of recommendation should be submitted by the individual providing the reference directly to WCM at awards@wcm.ca. Additional Information Provide a letter of 500 words or less, answering the questions below, and noting the Criteria for Selection. Please describe a professional or volunteer experience that precluded you from advancing into a leadership role in your career path. Briefly outline your current career goals or professional aspirations within a five-year time horizon. Please describe an area in your professional development where you feel an executive coach would help you achieve your leadership and career goals.
