Any psitin requiring fur (4) hurs r LESS will be cmpensated at the half-day rate. The campus reserves the right t alter the current assignment r schedule at the discretin f the principal r campus designee. Paraprfessinals wrking in a Life Skills/AB/PPCD assignment will have a base pay rate f $65, and the additinal $10 incentive pay will be reflected n the substitute s pay check as a Sub Adjustment (SUBADJ). PAY DATES/PAY PERIODS Substitutes are paid semi-mnthly. Paychecks will be depsited n the 15 th and the last day f the mnth. Time wrked frm the 1 st -15 th is paid at the end f the mnth. Time wrked frm the 16 th -31 st is paid n the 15 th f the fllwing mnth. Example: If a substitute wrks the 14 th, 15 th, and 16 th in an assignment, the substitute will receive pay fr tw days at the end f the mnth. The 16 th wuld be included in the fllwing pay perid. 3 MISSING PAY/DISCREPENCIES Substitutes may view their assignments via AESOP at STAFF > HR > Substitute > Online Substitute Resurces. We advise that substitutes check their assignments daily t ensure accuracy. If yu d nt see an assignment n yur calendar, yu will nt be paid. Please cntact the Campus Substitute Representative t discuss any discrepancies. Payrll checks can be viewed and printed nline by lgging int The Emplyee Access Center via cfisd.net. Substitutes shuld verify all assignments daily by viewing the histry tab in the AESOP system. All assignments will have a cnfirmatin number. Cnfirmatin numbers are assigned via the AESOP system and are always available t yu. In mst cases, errrs will be crrected n the next payrll, nce the discrepancy has been brught t the attentin f Sub Payrll, and the payrll has nt yet been prcessed fr the upcming payrll date. Please nte that it is required t sign in and ut with the campus substitute representative. This culd be very helpful in the event f discrepancies. Any request fr cmpensatin must be initiated by the campus. All Lng Term Pay Frms will be prcessed in the pay perid they are received in the Substitute Office, after the assignment has ended. Lng-Term Teacher Full Day Assignments: days: $35.00 per day back t day ne f assignment 25+ days: $70.00 per day back t day ne f assignment Half Day Assignments: half days: $17.50 per half day back t day ne f assignment 25+ half days: $35.00 per half day back t day ne f assignment Lng-Term Paraprfessinal (Clerical and Classrm): Full Day Assignments: 10+ days: $5.00 per day back t day ne f assignment Half Day Assignments: 10+ half days: $2.50 per half day back t day ne f assignment PAYROLL CHANGES All payrll changes, including bank accunt and pay card infrmatin, shuld be directed t the Payrll Department (this includes lst pay cards as well). W-4 s, addresses, phne numbers, and e- mail addresses can be updated nline using the Emplyee Access Center. 3

4 LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE Thrughut the schl year, requests are frequently made fr a substitute t wrk in the same psitin fr an extended number f days. A lng-term assignment is defined as an assignment fr: an unfilled (vacancy) assignment A single substitute assignment fr ten (10) r mre cnsecutive days fr teachers, nurses and paraprfessinals. Wrking fr different emplyees at a single campus fr several cnsecutive days des nt qualify as a lng-term assignment. The District's gal is t fill lng-term substitute teaching psitins with a substitute certified in the apprpriate area; hwever, nn-certified, degreed substitutes may als be cnsidered when a certified candidate is nt available. Vacant psitin LTS must be certified teachers with a highly qualified designatin. The lng-term substitute teacher is the teacher f recrd fr the length f the lng-term assignment. A substitute shuld cnsider the respnsibilities and cmmitment he/she is making befre accepting a lng-term assignment. As the teacher f recrd, the lng-term substitute will be actively invlved in: Implementing and/r creating lessn plans fllwing district guidelines. Grading, maintaining accurate grades and submitting grades fr reprt cards in a timely manner. Attending all faculty meetings as called by administratrs. Participating in planning sessins with teams, departments, and ther curriculum duties. Maintaining duty statins bth during and after the schl day as assigned by administratrs n campus. Attending district wide staff develpment. (Lng-term substitutes are nt expected t attend staff develpment during nn-schl hurs. Lng-term substitutes shuld nt be cmpensated fr any wrk perfrmed during nn-schl time. D nt assume any extra duties withut cntacting the substitute representative n campus r the Substitute Office befrehand). Lng-Term Cmpensatin: A substitute in a lng-term assignment will receive additinal cmpensatin fr that assignment. Substitutes wrking as tutrs/ testers, cunselrs r administratrs are ineligible fr lng-term cmpensatin. In additin, certain psitins cannt be cmbined int ne cntinuus lng-term assignment. Fr example, AMIP and/r ARIP tutring cannt be cmbined with any ther prgram. Lng-term substitutes will nt be paid fr time equivalency days. Absences, fr any reasn, are unpaid. If a substitute des nt wrk he/she will nt be cmpensated fr that day. This includes schl clsures fr inclement weather, natural disasters, electrical failures, etc. 4

5 Lng-term cmpensatin is paid at the end f the assignment. There are n exceptins t this rule. Lng-term substitutes are encuraged t keep an accurate recrd f the number f days wrked in that particular assignment t ensure their recrds match thse f the campus. Please nte that lng-term substitutes are nt paid fr schl hlidays, r days missed fr jury duty, illness, etc. Campuses will turn in the lng-term recrd at the end f the assignment. If an ver-payments exist, it will be recuped at this time. Lng-term substitutes will meet with the campus substitute representative at the end f the assignment t sign this frm acknwledging the number f days fr which they are t be paid. It is the Substitute s respnsibility t ensure that the Lng Term Pay Frm has been cmpleted and submitted t the Substitute Office fr payment. Please cntact the Sub Rep n campus t inquire n the submissin f a Lng Term Pay Frm wed. All Lng Term Pay Frms will be prcessed in the pay perid they are received in the Sub Office, after the assignment. If yu have nt been paid fr a lng term assignment, yu shuld first cntact the campus t ensure that the frm has been submitted t the Sub Office. Absences during a Lng-Term Assignment: Befre accepting a lng-term assignment, a substitute shuld pay careful attentin t their bligatins befre and after schl. Duty hurs are the same as fr a full-time emplyee f the campus. A lng-term substitute fulfills all the duties f the assigned staff member, including all activities thrugh the fficial end f the campus day. Arrangements must be made fr child care, etc., t avid a schedule cnflict. Shuld a lng-term substitute need t be absent, the campus substitute representative shuld be infrmed in advance, when pssible. Each lng-term situatin can be different n each campus, with each psitin. The Substitute Office s plicy n absences is that a substitute may nt have mre than tw (2) absences during a lng-term assignment. Hwever, if there are extenuating circumstances, the substitute shuld talk with the substitute representative n the campus wh will then cntact the Substitute Office. Failure t visit in advance with the campus cncerning absences ver the allwed tw (2) absences culd result in the lng-term assignment being cancelled and the substitute nt receiving full cmpensatin. Any decisin n the number f absences allwed abve the tw (2) recmmended by the Substitute Office will be made by the building principal in cnjunctin with the Substitute Office. 5
