6 Who we are Since establishing a presence in Asia in 1975, Leighton Asia has gone from strength to strength as one of the region s leading construction and mining service providers. 26 Integral to the successful delivery of each project is our management system, which ensures we apply stringent and uncompromising quality, health and safety, integrated real-time risk management and environmental systems to all our operations. Health and safety We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for every one of our workers. Our aim is to eliminate all injuries that have a permanent effect on our workers through strong safety leadership at all levels. Through our Strive for L. I. F. E (Leighton Incident Free Environment) initiative, we are constantly assessing the workplace for health and safety risks that can place our people in danger. Once the risks are identified, we work together to find innovative ways to eliminate or control those risks. We prioritise safety at all levels of our organisation through safety training and rigorous workplace standards. We hold international certification OHSAS18001:2007 for our occupational health and safety system.
