1 YWCA OF SWEETWATER COUNTY JOB DESCRIPTION SWEETWATER COUNTY FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER/YWCA SUPPORT AND SAFE HOUSE DIRECTOR JOB FUNCTION: The overall management and operation of the Sweetwater County Family Justice Center and YWCA Support and Safe House Program, including 24-hour, 7 days/week services. Responsible for compliance with the policies, rules, and regulations of the YWCA and governmental bodies. Assure program development, fiscal management and the provision of the services for both programs. Promote program excellence, accountability, and integrity with respect to program participant, and agency staff. Implement best practice-based program philosophies, goals, service delivery strategies, and outcome measurement protocols that illustrate program effectiveness and community impact. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor s Degree and 2 years relevant experience in human services, education, social work, administration, public affairs, or related fields required. Ability to communicate effectively with groups, legislative bodies, funding sources, and the general public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with on-site and off-site partners and the community-at-large. Ability to provide administrative and professional leadership. Skills in budgeting and fiscal management. Excellent computer, organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work with diverse peoples and attitudes in a non-judgmental and accepting attitude of respect and dignity. Understanding of domestic violence and sexual assault issues from the viewpoint of the victim and the need for services. Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Completion of (or ability to complete) required 40 hour SASH training. Able to provide transportation legally. Must possess a valid driver s license, have 7 years of driving experience and be 25 years of age and no more than two moving violation tickets or one major violation in any three-year period. Minimum of six months removed from battering and/or sexual assault situation. Spanish speaking preferred. Successful completion of criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening. Bondable. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the FJC Executive Committee and SASH Advisory Committee to develop annual goals and objectives, as well as methods for tracking outputs and measuring program outcomes. Administer and coordinate services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Direct, instruct and counsel employees and community partners to ensure an integrated, focused continuum of services. Plan appropriate program priorities, create policies, and implement procedures and practices that promote program excellence, accountability and integrity. Knowledge of partner agencies and their current practices. Knowledge of court procedures and requirements specific to the needs of victims. Maintain current knowledge of research and effective methods to provide support services and promote victim s rights.

2 Provide financial management of FJC and SASH budget and preparation of annual budget and reports submitted to Executive Committee, Advisory Committee, funding agencies and YWCA. Sustainability/Funding of the FJC and SASH is the responsibility of the Director, with the assistance of the Executive Committee and financial development coordinator. Organize fundraisers to support operating expenses. Research and write funding proposals for the program; assure compliance with grant funding requirements, including reporting and oversight of expenditures. Maintain statistics as required and complete periodic progress reports. Provide public education and awareness and assure the development and distribution of public education materials. Ensure the recruitment and training of volunteers. Contribute to the critical issue of victim safety by maintaining a high level of security within the facility and developing procedures in providing advocacy in the community. Develop and continuously improve appropriate systems, policies, protocols and procedures that support effective, victim-centered operations of the FJC, e.g. information handling, confidentiality. Work directly with victim/survivors of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, child abuse Direct and supervise program employees; formulate and maintain necessary staffing plans and job descriptions; assure that on-going training opportunities are available to staff and volunteer advocates and that mandatory trainings are provided. Assure through adherence to policies and procedures that victim confidentiality and privacy is maintained and victim safety is a priority. Assure maintenance and upkeep of internal/external appearances of facilities and vehicles is performed. All safety aspects such as snow removal, security system, parking and building access are ensured. On-call availability. CATEGORY: Regular Full Time CLASSIFICATION: Exempt GRADE: E5 SALARY RANGE: $46,104 - $63,014 YWCA of Sweetwater County Employment at Will Every staff member of the YWCA of Sweetwater County is an Employee at Will.
