1 Position Description: Indirect Loan Officer Department: Consumer Loans Division: Lending FLSA Status: Non-exempt Location: Griffiss Revised: February 2016 Purpose: I. Supports the administration and operation of Consumer Loan policies and programs that support and further the goals of the Credit Union and the Strategic Architecture. Works collaboratively to maintain efficient, professional procedures to achieve Loan Goals, in compliance with all regulations and standards. II. Supports the Loan Department in implementing the Strategic Architecture. Roles and Responsibilities: A. Reviews indirect applications received from various approved dealerships and inputs all loan application, as required. Via Meridian Link, fax decisions to dealer stating all conditions that must be met before the loan can be disbursed. Has direct contact with dealers to clarify application information or decisions using Credit Union Policies and Guidelines. B. Reviews and underwrites loan applications referred by Managers, the internet or when members request loan via the mail. C. Reviews all RV/Marine Loans for underwriting, notifies all parties of decision made, and co-ordinates workflow for processing and funding. D. Reviews all Secured (Non-Real Estate) loans originated at the Financial Centers in which borrowers FICO score (s) are less than 640. E. Assists in the daily operations of the Student Lending Program, downloading required documents to Credit Union Student Choice and creating any reports as required. F. Inputs and underwrites credit card applications received by mail, fax, or inner office. G. Reviews daily loan reports for all loan applications pending; notify MRA/MSS that loan needs to be decisioned and or canceled. H. Reviews the weekly Gap Insurance report to make sure all funds have been deposited to correct GL and tracking record has been created; makes any necessary corrections and authorizes monthly transmission of funds to Lee & Mason. I. Responds to all members whose loans have been denied (except for Indirect loans), on the phone, by mail, or by giving explanation for disapproval. Also, reviews members' written appeals on disapproved loans. J. Must maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all Consumer Loan Underwriting Guidelines and Level of Authority for Level II Loan Officer. K. Ensures proper application of all Federal, State and Corporation Laws, and Guidelines in the dispensing of various loans.

Maintains a complete working knowledge of the on-line terminal, (i.e. opening of accounts, etc.) in order to perform any inquiries required or other transactions necessary during the course of evaluating a loan application. M. Ensures that current loan policies are strictly adhered to. N. Maintains proper surveillance and security over applications being processed. Ensures confidentiality of member transactions. TEAMWORK: Builds and maintains an effective working relationship with all peers. Coordinates and integrates departmental work activities with co-workers' work activities. Positively contributes to teams and other work groups to carry out departmental projects. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Assists management with projects. Provides constructive input into the Action Plan Process, to facilitate project planning and implementation. Assists in the identification of resources required, costs, benefits, timelines, implementation schedules, and evaluation. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Supports and operates within departmental budget in cooperation with co-workers. Is familiar with departmental budget operating reports and variance reports. STAFF DEVELOPMENT: Attends workshops, seminars, or other developmental opportunities as identified to improve individual and or team performance. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Monitor and identify personal/ professional development needs and maintains capabilities consistent with the organization s philosophy and values through special project assignments, technical workshops and seminars; reading, reflection, course work, and management development opportunities and activities. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Positively contributes to the performance management process by setting goals, completing the self-evaluation and actively participating in quarterly performance management feedback sessions. E-COMMERCE: Supports and operates within e-commerce strategy maximizing the use of technology whenever possible. Is familiar with technology applicable to the position and is proficient is using existing technology. Positively contributes to e-commerce activities by identifying processes or procedures that can be streamlines and/or automated. COMMUNICATION: Actively participates in weekly staff meetings. Provides information to co-workers, managers and supervisors in a timely manner. Models communication actions consistent with department communication and commitments. CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP: Represents the Credit Union at appropriate internal events, professional organizations, and community events/programs. COMPLIANCE: Acquires and maintains the necessary working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations and Credit Union bylaws and policies, in order to ensure compliance when selling Credit Union services and products. Work is subject to review and/or audit on a no-notice basis by Management, Supervisory Committee, auditors and/or examiners. PROFESSIONALISM: Must display a pleasant, professional manner and positive attitude on the job and follow guidelines established in the Credit Union's Policy Manual,
3 including the Code of Ethics, Telecommunications Policy, dress code and attendance areas. SAFETY: Works safely and uses safety/ergonomic equipment provided.8 Reports defects in work area, or equipment promptly. Keeps equipment in proper working order to maintain a safe work environment. MISCELLANEOUS: Performs all other related duties as assigned. Reports To: This position reports directly to the Manager, Consumer Loan and Asset Quality Department Qualifications: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalency; one or more college level accounting courses. An A.A.S. in a related field is preferred EPERIENCE: Two Years lending experience COMMUNICATION: Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as, strong organizational and analytical skills. SOFTWARE: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel desired. Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. Must be willing to work occasional Saturdays and Credit Union Holidays.
