We offer vital advice, support and information to those affected, arrange group and 1-to-1 support in the community and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services they badly need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland s leading organisation for person-centred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions. You will be the face of CHSS in your local community, and work flexible hours to deliver the outstanding levels of service we pride ourselves in.

2 The main purpose of the post of is to support the Retail Service in moving stock between shops throughout all CHSS retail shops in Scotland. This will also include assisting in the setting up of new shops, closing existing shops through moving shop fixtures and fittings and delivering Christmas cards and merchandise. Key responsibilities: 1. To support shops to acquire sufficient stock to generate sales and meet weekly targets. 2. To organise own workload and plan journeys to minimise the amount of travel time required in discussion with retail management. 3. To uplift stock donations and transport donations to storage, a CHSS shop or another agreed destination. 4. To promote CHSS fundraising at a local level. 5. To comply with legislation and regulations. Particular attention should be made in respect of how CHSS handles stock donated, moving and handling, lone working, risk assessments and driving at work (this is not an exhaustive list). 6. To complete required paperwork. 7. To keep the Regional Retail Manager updated on stock movements. 8. Maintain a stock inventory of items moved and destroyed. 9. To carry out basic repairs and maintenance in Retail Shops where required. 10. Any other duties that may be required from time to time by the Head of Retail Field Operations. Demands and Requirements of the Job: Moving and handling of stock, furniture and other goods will be required. Evening and weekend working may be required on occasions especially during busy periods when required to meet target completion dates. Lone working will be required.

3 A van will be provided, for the purpose of carrying out the job. A tracker will be fitted in the execution of this role and will be used for the purpose(s) outlined in CHSS Data Protection Policy. In addition, the postholder will be required to maintain and upkeep the van. Vehicle conditions are attached to the job description. The post holder will be expected to provide and use their own tools for basic repairs and maintenance at shops. Work wear will be provided (polo shirt, sweatshirt and jacket) which should be worn at all times whilst at work. The postholder will be required to wear black shoes and smart trousers/jeans to maintain the professional image of CHSS. A mobile phone/handheld device will be provided by CHSS, for work purposes, which will remain the property of CHSS. 4 Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland Company Vehicle Usage and Conditions CHSS recognises its responsibilities with regard to vehicle usage and requires all employees who are supplied with or operate a vehicle owned or provided by CHSS for use to comply with the following: Vehicles are for business use and personal use only when authorised by the Head of Retail Field Operations and shall be in accordance with the details provided within contracts of employment. Vehicles are only available to Employees who hold a full current and valid driving licence. Vehicles shall be driven in a manner so that fuel economy and tyre life are maximised and engine wear is minimised. Careless or reckless use of vehicles shall result in disciplinary action. It is also the user s responsibility to ensure that it is kept in a clean and tidy condition and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer s recommendations. The vehicle driver shall be responsible for any prosecution, conviction and resultant fine whilst using the vehicle and shall notify the Director of Retail as soon as possible. Accidents must be reported to the police and the Head of Retail Field Operations as soon as possible. Vehicle users must avoid the consumption of alcohol and non-prescribed drugs prior to or during the course of driving a CHSS vehicle. Infringement shall result in disciplinary action, which may result in dismissal. Any health changes affecting ability to operate CHSS vehicles must be notified to the Head of Retail Field Operations. Smoking is not permitted by vehicle users or passengers in CHSS owned or supplied vehicles Consuming food and drink is also not permitted whilst driving. Vehicle fuel shall only be purchased by means of a fuel card supplied by the CHSS, and every effort should be made to obtain fuel from garages providing the most competitive rate at the time to reduce costs. Vehicle tracking devices shall be installed on vehicles in connection with business requirements for security purposes, location in an emergency and checks on compliance with legal requirements such as speed and usage time. Vehicles shall be locked and any security devices installed enabled when the vehicle is left unattended, without any CHSS property being visible. Use of mobile phones & similar hand held electronic devices is prohibited.

7 Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland - East Further Details Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland comprises several departments: Corporate Services (including Administration, Finance, IT, HR and Volunteering), Strategy and Communications, Fundraising, Retail and Services. Flexibility for cover is required hours per week. Grade 6(i), Scale Points ,627 to 18,443 per annum New appointments are normally placed at the base of the salary scale unless there are exceptional circumstances. The postholder is subject to the CHSS objective setting, supervision and appraisal process. CHSS leave year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Employees are entitled to 24 days annual leave in their first year of service along with 12 public holidays. An employee will be awarded one extra day s annual leave for each complete year of service up to a maximum of 30 days and 12 public holidays. These allowances are pro-rated for part time employees and further pro-rated for those who join or leave CHSS during the leave year. CHSS offers a Group Personal Pension Plan, which has been established with Aviva. The Plan is a money purchase arrangement. You can choose at what rate you wish to contribute (subject to a minimum age related contribution) and how to invest your own contributions and those made by CHSS. The emerging fund at the point that you wish to take the benefits is then used to purchase a pension that is paid for the rest of your life. Employee s and Employer s Contributions are paid on the portion of the employee s salary which is above the National Insurance contributions

8 threshold (the Lower Earnings Limit). Employees who meet the relevant criteria are automatically enrolled in the scheme. There are also schemes which provide death-in-service benefit and permanent health insurance.
