7 Introdcing Setting the Standard This Code of Condct sets the standard for appropriate behavior and expectations reqired of all employees to meet the Vales which are essential in the accomplishment of the Hyne Timber Vision. As a vales-driven company, Hyne Timber goes beyond simply complying with the minimm standards of personal condct. Or goal is to make every decision and every action an achievement to be prod of. Setting the Standard is exactly that, the Hyne Timber Standard, providing gidance and principles for working at Hyne. It is very important that yo read this Standard, nderstand it and live it as part of yor agreement to work for and represent Hyne Timber. It applies to all visitors, employees, contractors, sbcontractors, apprentices, trainees, work experience stdents and volnteers, whether working fll time or part time, or on a casal basis. It extends to otside of working hors where workers identify themselves or are identified as Hyne Timber employees sch as on social media or wearing Hyne Timber branded clothing in pblic, and those representing Hyne Timber at events. Setting the Standard is complemented by a site of company policies and procedres and it is yor responsibility to be familiar with these. While the contents of this docment simply reinforce what we already do, it shold be clarified that these standards are not negotiable, they apply to all of s and they are there for yor gidance as well as compliance. 9 SAFETY Hyne Timber is committed to the safety of all workers, visitors and the commnity. Everyone shold arrive at a Hyne Timber site safely, operate safely, look ot for one another and be sre of a safe retrn home. Safety comes first. Do not engage in any behavior that may pt yorselves or others in danger Everyone is responsible for safety. 3. Observe all workplace health and safety reqirements and stop work practices being ndertaken which yo believe are, or may be nsafe, then take appropriate action. 4. Report any sitation that is, nearly was or is likely to be a health or safety hazard. 5. Smoking is permitted in the legally allocated, designated smoking areas only. Hyne Timber spports employees to stop smoking. 6. Be free from the inflence of illegal drgs and alcohol and in a condition fit for work. All Hyne Timber workplaces are illegal drg and alcohol free zones at all times. Hyne Timber reserves the right to test all employees. 7. Disclose the prescribed se of drgs if docmented, potential side effects may affect yor ability to perform yor dties safely. 8. All visitors attending Hyne Timber sites are reqired to ndertake a site indction. 9. Or cstomers and key stakeholders may exercise different standards of safety at their own premises. Hyne Timber workers need to report any concerns they have when attending non Hyne Timber premises which are, or may be sbstandard in terms of safety and likewise, learn from safe practices experienced. 10. Hyne Timber facilities and resorces mst be only sed for their proper prpose, be treated with de care and be maintained appropriately, inclding the se of Hyne Timber vehicles. Examples of Living the Hyne Timber Safety Vale: a. Safety FIRST. Before starting a task; STOP, THINK abot the reqired actions, likely conseqences, any abnormal circmstances and decide/docment the SAFE process. b. Always prioritise safety over rgency or convenience. c. Stop yor team mate ndertaking an nsafe act. d. Raise safety concerns in yor Mini Bsiness Board meeting and other forms. e. Attend and work free from the inflence of illegal drgs, and/or alcohol. f. Partake in interactive and highly visible safety walks. Recognise/reward safe practices; take action on any nsafe practices. g. Follow correct isolation procedres and only remove yor own isolation tag/lock. h. Wear correct, well maintained personal protective eqipment as reqired. i. All workers shold lead by example and pt safety first every time. 11. The possession of firearms, weapons or ammnition is strictly prohibited by any person operating at or sing Hyne Timber property. The possession of explosives is strictly prohibited except for exceptional operational necessity in accordance with state and federal training, qalifications, safety and legislative reqirements. 12. Ensre all Hyne Timber commnity involvements and engagements are in accordance with health and safety reqirements and this Code of Condct. 13 BE RESPONSIBLE While operational responsibilities and role descriptions will vary, this Code of Condct applies to everyone. It is yor responsibility to nderstand and live by the Hyne Timer Vales. 1. Be responsible for yor actions as well as inactions in order to learn and develop. 2. Attend work pnctally ensring yo are appropriately presented. 3. Do not condone behavior which breaches this Code of Condct and ensre breaches are reported. 4. Comply with the law inclding legal administrative and reporting reqirements. 5. Inform Hman Resorces if yo are convicted of a criminal offence dring yor period of employment at Hyne Timber. 6. Make decisions based on data and fact. 7. The responsible and moderate consmption of alcohol may be permitted at social fnctions or award ceremonies for example, which aren t held at a Hyne Timber site. 8. Always cooperate with internal bsiness practice investigations. 9. Hyne Timber is an eqal opportnity employer, prioritising individal merit and bsiness reqirements in its recritment processes. All employees involved in this process shold carry ot this dty with complete integrity, fairness and free from discrimination and/or conflict of interest. 10. Be responsible for yor technology se. All employees shold ensre that they do not engage in behavior on social media that breaches the Code of Condct and/or any information technology policy or gidelines, or that may otherwise bring Hyne Timber into disrepte. 11. Every Hyne Timber employee is responsible for their property, eqipment and work spaces inclding the proper and appropriate se in accordance with policies and procedres and applying the Hyne Timber Vales. 13. Every Hyne Timber employee is responsible for their behavior otside of work hors. Employees shold not engage in behavior otside of work hors that may reflect adversely on Hyne Timber, adversely affect Hyne Timber s interests, or adversely affect the performance of yor position. 14. Everyone is responsible for their condct and engagement within the commnities in which we operate, applying the Hyne Timber Vales. 15. Undertake de diligence on commnity grops prior to agreeing to spporting initiatives to ensre they align with the Hyne Timber Vales. 16. Assess work practices and planned works for any impact they may have on the commnity inclding the environment and ensre correct athority, consltation and commnication has occrred. 15 RESPECT Hyne Timber is bilt on the respectfl treatment of individals. All individals deserve to be treated respectflly and corteosly and treat others the same way. 1. Commnicate respectflly and corteosly regardless of whether yo are at a Hyne Timber site, representing Hyne Timber or otherwise. 2. Respectfl commnication applies to all interaction regardless of whether it is formal or informal, written, verbal, , telephone or other commnication medim. 3. Hyne Timber encorages open and transparent commnication. Covert recordings (adio or video) in the workplace can seriosly ndermine the trst we need in each other and is not consistent with Hyne Timber Vales. 4. Hyne Timber welcomes and encorages diversity and eqal opportnity and does not tolerate harassment or bllying. 5. Recognise and vale yor own and other people s ideas, knowledge and experience. 6. The possession of pornography or otherwise disrespectfl material is strictly prohibited by any person operating on or sing Hyne Timber property. Examples of Living the Hyne Timber Respect Vale: a. Commnicate respectflly to one another and abot one another. Actively listen and engage, respect others opinion and advice. b. Action reasonable workplace reqests from spervisors in a timely manner. c. Display empathy, identify with people and promote cltral diversity in the workplace. d. Respect all people, property, assets and the environment. 7. All employees have a right to raise concerns with regards to bsiness practice withot fear of retaliation. Retaliation is not in accordance with the Hyne Timber Vales. 8. Privacy and confidentiality entitlements mst be considered both by Hyne Timber as the employer, and all workers. The right to privacy of personal information mst be respected and in accordance with the Privacy Act. 9. Property owned by Hyne Timber shold be treated with respect. 10. Personal property of individals is the responsibility of those individals. Use of and/or possession of yor and/or others personal property is sbject to the Hyne Timber Vales in accordance with this Code of Condct. 17 HONESTY Honesty and integrity is everyone s responsibility in order to earn the trst and respect of others. We speak the trth and honor or word. We mst be honest with orselves, honest with each other, and honest in identifying problems in order to ensre a sstainable ftre for Hyne Timber. 1. Work constrctively by being honest and impartial in the provision of advice, the preparation of reports and recommendations. 2. Be trthfl when dealing with other individals and expect honesty in retrn. 3. Do yo have, or cold yo be perceived to have a conflict of interest? Then disclose it so it can be managed honestly and transparently. 4. If yo are nsre as to whether yor behavior or proposed behavior is in accordance with this Code of Condct, then seek advice. 5. If yo are aware of frad or corrption, or any other dishonest bsiness practices, yo are reqired to report this immediately. 6. Employees mst not seek or solicit gifts, benefits or hospitality in connection with their work. Offers and/or acceptance of gifts, benefits and hospitality mst be reported to yor spervisor. 7. Wold this be okay if it made the media? Is this behavior in line with or health and safety reqirements? Wold I be comfortable telling my family or colleages abot this? 21 Glossary Conflict of Interest is a sitation in which a worker s position within the company or financial or other considerations or interests have the potential to affect, or cold be perceived to affect their jdgement, objectivity or independence. Procedres detail how we do it step by step gide to achieving the minimm Company reqirements for ndertaking a specific bsiness fnction, activity or process. Often written as a spport docment to obligations nder a Company Principle or Company Policy. Consltant is a worker on the basis of an agreement between Hyne Timber and the conslting company. The consltant provides specialist services not sally performed by an employee on a fll time basis. Work is for a defined period of time, facilitated by the conslting company for or on behalf of Hyne Timber. Property Privacy incldes all property, facilities, materials, eqipment, financial resorces, hman resorces, intellectal property and commercial-in-confidence details. is the ability of an individal or grop to keep their lives and personal affairs ot of the pblic view, or to control the flow of information abot themselves. Contractor is an individal, company or other legal entity that carries ot work or performs services for Hyne Timber nder a contract for service. This incldes sb-contractors. Record is the stored information in any form or on any media, created or received and maintained by Hyne Timber as complete and accrate evidence of bsiness decisions, activities and transactions. Illegal Drgs Inappropriate Material Intellectal Property incldes drgs which are schedled according to legislation and prescription drgs which are held withot a valid prescription. incldes pornographic or sexally explicit or exploitative images or text; materials promoting violence, hatred or terrorism or the intolerance of others, and any material that is obscene, absive or offensive. is a creation of the mind, intellect or bsiness data which has potential commercial vale and may have a right to protection nder law relating to copyright, patents and trademarks. Intellectal property conceived, researched and/or developed by Hyne Timber workers as part of their role is the property of Hyne Timber. Policies are or obligations as an employer and employee - commnicates specific minimm expectations and responsibilities of its people on a compliance matter and often incldes tangible criteria for what compliance looks like. Stakeholders Worker are persons or grops who are affected by or can affect the otcome of Hyne Timber decisions and projects. This may also inclde those who are interested in the otcome. Stakeholders can be individals, interest grops, government agencies or corporate organisations. incldes all employees, contractors, sbcontractors, apprentices and trainees, work experience stdents and volnteers performing work for Hyne Timber. Workers who have the responsibility of other Workers reporting to their position sch as leading hands, co-ordinators, spervisors, managers, senior managers, CEO etc. A Worker incldes those who are identified, or identify themselves as Hyne Timber employees otside of working hors sch as on social media, attending fnctions, wearing Hyne Timber branded clothing.
