3 Background information Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is acknowledged as one of the world s leading children s hospitals. Children are referred from all over the UK and overseas and are often in need of treatment for the most complex and life threatening illnesses. Working in partnership with the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH), the hospital is the largest paediatric research and training centre in Europe and one of a very small number of internationally recognised centres of excellence in the field of child health. We raise money to enable GOSH to provide world-class care for its young patients and their families by: contributing to the rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital supporting ground-breaking research into the development of new treatment funding the most up-to-date equipment providing accommodation and other support services for children and their families Redevelopment In order to maintain and advance our position as one of the world s leading centres for paediatric care and research, we desperately need to upgrade our oldest buildings and create additional space to allow more children to be treated. Our ambitious four-phase redevelopment programme aims to rebuild two thirds of the hospital site over a 20-year period. The Morgan Stanley Clinical Building, the first part of the Mittal Children's Medical Centre, was opened in June Three of the hospital s largest specialities, cardiac, renal and neurosciences, have moved into the building. They have experienced a huge difference, with larger ward spaces and facilities, cutting-edge equipment and new operating theatres, along with a new family and staff restaurant with a 3D cinema and a Disney interactive play area. The Premier Inn Clinical Building, which completes the Mittal Children s Medical centre, will open in It will house a new surgery centre alongside inpatient wards for medical specialties including Rheumatology, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Neurosciences and Cardio-respiratory. The completion of the building will realise GOSH's vision to provide modern facilities for our acute inpatients, including space for a parent or carer to stay comfortably by their child s bedside. The next phase of our redevelopment programme is the creation of the Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children. This will be a world-class multidisciplinary centre of excellence that will bring together clinicians from GOSH and researchers from UCL ICH. Construction will begin in 2015 and is due to be completed in 2018.

4 Background information Research Carrying out research into the best way to fight children s illnesses has been one of our main ambitions ever since the hospital opened in Across the joint institution we are dedicated to both clinical and basic scientific research that benefits not only children at the hospital, but right across the UK and, ultimately, around the world. This has been recognised through the award of Biomedical Research Centre status by the National Institute of Health Research the only such UK centre focussing exclusively on children s research. In the last decade years alone, our research has led to numerous innovative developments including the world s first stem cell supported tracheal transplant in a child and new curative gene therapies for seven immune system disorders. Equipment Every year, we support Great Ormond Street Hospital by funding the purchase of replacement or additional medical equipment. This enables the clinical and research teams to take advantage of advances in medical science and technology to deliver better care to children and to replace old equipment that is no longer fit for purpose. Patient and family support We believe in caring not only for the child but for the whole family. This care comes in many forms, from financial advice and Play Specialists, to providing funding towards patient accommodation in the patient hotel in Weston House, or towards family accommodation in various locations in and near the hospital. 5 The role Job Title: Reports to: Head of Management Department: Corporate Partnerships Salary: Competitive Hours 37.5 Job Type Permanent Date: September 2015 The Corporate Partnerships team, comprising of and Management, has an ambition of raising 50m over the next 5 years. The team has the benefit of a clear strategy, an inspiring cause, a fantastic charity brand and is dedicated to consistently delivering a high level of stewardship to all our partners. Sitting within the Management team, this post will focus on the delivery of a variety of high level corporate partnerships to ensure income and other opportunities from these partnerships are maximised across the full spectrum of corporate fundraising disciplines (employee fundraising, sponsorship, cause related marketing, volunteering etc.) This role is one of four s and will line manage two s. 6 Main duties and responsibilities Manage the set-up and delivery of a portfolio of large corporate partners, including budget management within an agreed cost to income ratio. Play a lead role in developing and negotiating a new multi-year sponsorship package with one of your partnerships. Write, deliver and monitor partnership development plans with objectives for corporate partners to ensure these are maximised, reviewing quarterly and presenting half yearly to the Director and Deputy Director of Corporate Partnerships. Establish yourself with confidence, across all stakeholder groups: charity, hospital and clients and position yourself as the first point of contact for the partnerships you manage. Measure the impact of partnerships through agreed evaluation methods and deliver exceptional stewardship plans to partners with the aim of maximising opportunities and ultimately retaining their support. Conduct stakeholder analysis and develop stakeholder cultivation plans in order to build strong, collaborative relationships with key contacts across partner companies. Lead engaging tours of the hospital for current or prospective clients. Support the Head of Management in the team s budget and forecasting this includes monthly reporting of client activity and income for you and your executives. To be responsible for line managing and motivating two s in respect to client portfolio and broader career development. Monitor the delivery and stewardship of their clients. Meet monthly KPI s for all partners and use Raiser s Edge for client management and reporting. Build excellent relationships with key personnel in corporate partner organisations. Develop fundraising concepts and materials for use across corporate fundraising activity. Person specification Skills and abilities Proven experience of corporate fundraising (charity of the year, employee fundraising, cause related marketing and sponsorship) to include delivery and development. Proven experience of delivering multi-faceted and mutually beneficial partnerships with multinational companies. A proven ability to write and present high level reports, presentations and negotiate and influence at a senior level.

7 Experience of developing and negotiating a multi-year sponsorship package. Excellent project management and problem solving skills. Exceptional creativity, proactivity and commercial acumen. Experience of working collaboratively with peers on achieving shared goals. Ability to react quickly and flexibly in order to adapt to change or capitalise on new opportunities. A keen eye for detail. Strong team player with the ability to be customer focused and to help out when needed. Previous line management experience. Knowledge of charity law around corporate fundraising (desirable). Educated to degree level (desirable). Attitudes and values Positive and proactive approach with the desire to seize the moment. Consistently professional, thorough and considered approach. Enterprising attitude and the drive to develop and implement new ideas and systems. Strong collaborative approach with respect for differing individual styles and abilities.
