Additional information about the University is available at Job Summary Provide supervision and support for the university s New Braunfels extension campus and assist the university provost with community and governmental relations in New Braunfels. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications for applicants include an earned doctorate from an accredited university in an academic field taught by the university. At least three years of directly related experience is preferred. 3 Job Summary Provide supervision and support for the university s extension campus in New Braunfels and assist the university provost with community and governmental relations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. The university provost may assign duties in addition to those listed below. 1. Spiritual Leadership - Models and encourages a genuine relationship with Christ that permeates all areas of responsibilities. Communicates the Christ-centered emphasis of the university in all internal and external relationships. 2. Center Supervision - Provides supervision and support for the New Braunfels Center (hereafter, Center) through regular communication regarding university-wide updates and in developing and implementing strategic goals to include recruiting, marketing/advertising, increased academic programing, business/facility improvements, fundraising initiatives, and student development agendas. Provides monthly updates to university administration regarding Center activities. 3. Supervises all Center personnel. This involves holding regular staff meetings, assisting staff with necessary projects, and conducting annual performance reviews. 4. Coordinates with the university s provost and deans in all things related to the academic affairs of the Center to include: a. Development of the fall, spring, and summer schedules b. Coordination with faculty to create a textbook list for each semester c. Hiring/training and support of instructors d. New academic programming initiatives/proposals 5. Coordinates with the university s vice president for development and associate vice president for enrollment management in all things related to fund raising and student recruiting and retention for the Center. 6. Advises Center students each semester and coordinates with university offices to address course withdrawals, academic plan updates, overload requests, pre-requisite waivers, and student account settlements. 7. Develops and manages the annual Center overall budget. 8. Spends an appropriate amount of time in community relations activities on behalf of the Center (i.e., Chamber of Commerce events, associational and church programs, developing partnerships with area business and organizations, etc.). 9. Supervises and supports in coordination with the Center s admission counselor all graduate and undergraduate recruiting and admissions initiatives. This includes setting annual goals and assisting in recruiting programs/presentations as necessary. Page 2 of 6

4 10. Coordinates with the university s provost and vice-president of development to plan and implement fundraising initiatives to include: a. Providing oversight and support for the New Braunfels Center s event and development coordinator b. Growing and nurturing the Center advisory council c. Seeking individual donors to meet annual fundraising goals d. Planning and implementing with the Center s event and development coordinator all events (e.g. Annual 5K, The Big Give, Alumni and Friends Dinner, etc.) e. Planning and implementing initiatives for outreach to both Center and main campus alumni and friends, including the support and resource of the local alumni chapter f. Overseeing the awarding of existing and the development of new scholarships 11. Receives student complaints and/or concerns and coordinates with university officials to address situations promptly and appropriately. 12. Coordinates with the office of communications to plan and implement all advertising/publicity and marketing strategies. 13. Provides supervision of the Center s facility including the scheduling and ordering of regular cleaning and maintenance, the hiring of a facility monitor for evening classes, maintaining a key schedule, the ordering of new or replacement classroom furniture, and coordinating with the university s director of IT for all technology related issues. 14. Coordinates with Center staff to provide student activities and functions to support retention and growth. 15. Participates in strategic planning for the extension centers and university in coordination with university officials. This may include university representation on trustee committees and participation in administrative council retreats and planning meetings. The Director of the Center will also play a vital role in moving the center forward in the vision and plans of establishing a residential university campus. 16. Community and Governmental Relations As requested by the provost, participate in advocating and lobbying of community and governmental entities on behalf of and in the best interest of the Center. Math Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a good working knowledge of commonly used Internet browsers; Blackboard and Microsoft Office software. 6. License Must maintain a current Texas driver s license in order to drive any vehicle, including personal vehicles, on behalf of the university. 7.
