3 2018 FACULTY ROBERT J. BIES (Ph.D., Stanford University) is Professor of Management and Founder and First Academic Director of the Executive Master s in Leadership Program at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He is currently the Academic Director of the Executive Master s in Leadership Program for D.C. Public School Leaders. Professor Bies current research focuses on leadership, the delivery of bad news, organizational justice, and revenge and forgiveness in the workplace. DOUGLAS M. MCCABE (Ph.D., Cornell University) is Professor of Management at Georgetown University s McDonough School of Business in Washington, D.C. Considered by the news media to be an expert in his field, he has appeared more than 200 times on international, national, and local television and radio discussing his views on the various management topics, including management consulting practices, negotiation, mediation, employee relations, ethical issues in management, human capital management, labor-management relations, leadership and organizational behavior. SHANNON DOOLEY RINELLA currently serves as Director of Learning Development for Marriott International, with a primary focus on service culture training initiatives for its luxury and lifestyle brands. She joined Marriott International from Interstate Hotels & Resorts, where she was Senior Director of Learning & Career Development, overseeing associate engagement and professional development programs for 31,000 associates. Recognized as a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Rinella currently serves on the association s Training & Advisory Council and is a contributing editor to its START (Skills, Tasks, and Results Training) program for front line associates. She previously served on the editorial board of HotelExecutive.com. Rinella is an alumna of Duke University, holds a certificate in Casino Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and an MBA with a focus in strategic management from Villanova University.
