Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled. SCTC s Machine Technology program has articulation agreements with colleges across Pennsylvania through the SOAR program. For more information on the SOAR program, please visit: Prerequisites, Safety, and Equipment Requirements Working knowledge in the use and operation of shop equipment and hand tools in a safe manor. Safety glasses must be worn in the shop at all times. Hard leather shoes or steel toe boots must be worn in shop Students must adhere to the SCTC dress code in the Student Handbook Shop aprons are advised to be worn Students should change into older clothing for dirtier jobs.
