The goal of the Summer Internship Program for NXT Kids is to expose student ministry workers to vocational Christian ministry. Due to the relatively short period of time that an intern will be serving, the internship will only be able to show a glimpse of full-time church ministry, specializing in children s ministry. The hope is to share principles that will affect the intern s future ministry and life. A holistic approach to preparation is the goal; we hope our interns will grow in spiritual, emotional, relational, and ministry preparedness. Interns need to understand that the focus will be on personal growth, not just productivity. They will be expected to come with a willingness and openness to change and grow as their experiences provide opportunity to do so. The idea of the Summer Internship Program is based upon hands on ministry in an environment for success and growth. It is a place of learning and testing. More important than outlines and information is the opportunity for the intern to spend hours with individuals who have ministry experience and the desire to speak into your life in preparation for the road ahead. The NXT Kids Internship Program exists for three main purposes; Personal Growth, Leadership Development, and Ministry Experience.

Personal Growth We believe every single person deserves the opportunity to know God and His plan for their life. It is our goal to encourage one another to take steps towards spiritual growth. As we do, God s plan for our life becomes more and more clear. Our internship program is designed to help you learn more about God s incredible love for you, while learning just how uniquely designed you are! This will happen through required reading, prayer and devotional times, as well as opportunities to use your talents, abilities, and gifts in a ministry setting. In many cases ministry has been professionalized to the point of ineffectiveness. Lifestyle counts in pastoral ministry! Any amount of learning will be useless unless accompanied by a spiritual brokenness before God and men, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Emotional equipping is as important as intellectual. Our goal is for the Summer Intern to pursue wholeness through Christ. This will require openness and trust on the part of the Intern. A student can plan on... I. Meeting with an NXT Kids Staff Member weekly around the II. III. IV. conversation of personal growth. Consistent personal spiritual development through a regular devotional life and participation in the worship and life of Calvary Church. Maintaining good speech, dress, manner, and relationships. Keeping a journal of field experience: programs planned, services conducted, talks, sermons, anecdotes, failures, and successes.

Leadership Development Whether learning a skill for future church ministry, or learning a skill that will help you through life, the NXT Kids Internship Program will help you learn how to design, develop, manage, and implement various programs, events, and teachings. Every intern will be expected to make a concerted effort to grow in their leadership ability. Reading, research, interviews, training sessions, as well as hands-on experience will further develop the leadership skills in the intern s life. Interns will be have a required reading schedule and will participate in group devotions. Interns will be stretched to be the leader God designed them to be. NXT Kids Interns will... I. Accompany a pastor or staff member in making hospital visits. II. Pray with families. III. Prayer with Pastors and Directors IV. Learn various office and administrative skills: a. Financial Management b. Communication c. Staff Meetings

Ministry Experience The NXT Kids Internship Program offers opportunity for every intern to experience the complete planning and implementation of various programs design for conducting ministry. Each week, interns will pray with kids, interact with volunteers, and learn to work along side like minded staff members. This internship will be part of NXT Kids, but will offer opportunity to experience overall church ministry. Interns will grow in this through... I. Developing Curriculum II. Lead PRE Service Small Groups with Specialists III. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs IV. Utilize gifts to enhance the ministry experience

Social Media Policy At Calvary Church, we understand that social media can be a fun and rewarding way to share your life and opinions with family, friends and co-workers around the world. However, use of social media also presents certain risks and carries with it certain responsibilities. To assist you in making responsible decisions about your use of social media, we have established these guidelines for appropriate use of social media. This policy applies to all associates who work for Calvary Church Guidelines In the rapidly expanding world of electronic communication, social media can mean many things. Social media includes all means of communicating or posting information or content of any sort on the Internet, including to your own or someone else s web log or blog, journal or diary, personal web site, social networking or affinity web site, web bulletin board or a chat room, whether or not associated or affiliated with Calvary Church, as well as any other form of electronic communication. The same principles and guidelines found in Calvary Church policies apply to your activities online. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for what you post online. Before creating online content, consider some of the risks and rewards that are involved. Keep in mind that any of your conduct that adversely affects your job performance, the performance of fellow associates or otherwise adversely affects members, interns, suppliers, people who work on behalf of Calvary Church or Calvary Church s legitimate business interests may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Know and follow the rules Carefully read these guidelines, the Calvary Church Information Policy and the Discrimination & Harassment Prevention Policies, and ensure your postings are consistent with these policies. Inappropriate postings that may include discriminatory remarks, harassment, and threats of violence or similar inappropriate or unlawful conduct will not be tolerated and may subject you to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Be respectful Always be fair and courteous to fellow associates, interns, members, suppliers or people who work on behalf of Calvary Church. Also, keep in mind that you are more likely to resolve work-related complaints by speaking directly with your co-workers rather than by posting complaints to a social media outlet. Nevertheless, if you decide to post complaints or criticism, avoid using statements, photographs, video or audio that reasonably could be viewed as malicious, obscene, threatening or intimidating, that disparage, members, associates or suppliers, or that might constitute harassment or bullying. Examples of such conduct might include offensive posts meant to intentionally harm someone s reputation or posts that could contribute to a hostile work environment on the basis of race, sex, disability, religion or any other status protected by law or company policy. Be honest and accurate Make sure you are always honest and accurate when posting information or news, and if you make a mistake, correct it quickly. Be open about any previous posts you have altered. Remember that the Internet archives almost everything; therefore, even deleted postings can be searched. Never post any information or rumors that you know to be false about Calvary Church, fellow associates, members, suppliers, and others working on behalf of Calvary Church.

Social Media Policy Continued Post only appropriate and respectful content Maintain the confidentiality of Calvary Church private or confidential information. Do not post internal reports, policies, procedures or other internal business-related confidential communications. Express only your personal opinions. Never represent yourself as a spokesperson for Calvary Church. If Calvary Church is a subject of the content you are creating, be clear and open about the fact that you are an associate and make it clear that your views do not represent those of Calvary Church, fellow associates, members, suppliers or people working on behalf of Calvary Church. If you do publish a blog or post online related to the work you do or subjects associated with Calvary Church, make it clear that you are not speaking on behalf of Calvary Church. It is best to include a disclaimer such as The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Calvary Church. Using social media at work Refrain from using social media while on work time or on equipment we provide, unless it is work-related as authorized by your manager or consistent with the Office Equipment Use Policy. Do not use Calvary Church addresses to register on social networks, blogs or other online tools utilized for personal use. Retaliation is prohibited Calvary Church prohibits taking negative action against any associate for reporting a possible deviation from this policy or for cooperating in an investigation. Any associate who retaliates against another associate for reporting a possible deviation from this policy or for cooperating in an investigation will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Media contacts Associates should not speak to the media on Calvary Church s behalf without contacting the Chief Operating Officer and/or the Executive Team. All media inquiries should be directed to them. If you have questions or need further guidance, please contact your HR representative. Social Media Policy Acknowledgement I have received a copy of the Calvary Church Social Media Policy and as an employee of Calvary Church, agree to comply with these policies. These policies are subject to change with or without notice. Failure to follow policies will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Printed Name Signature Date

Confidentiality Agreement I agree that the Confidential Information is to be considered confidential and proprietary to Calvary Church and I shall hold the same in confidence, shall not use the Confidential Information other than for the purposes of its business with Calvary Church, and shall disclose it only to its officers, directors, or employees with a specific need to know.
