As a talent development professional at a business, law firm, government agency or not-for profit organization, are your people: Intimidated by financial information Confused by accounting terms Making the best choices Doing their part in meeting financial goals Unaware of how they impact profit Blindly replicating last year s budget? As the HR director in a public accounting firm this was awesome! I wish I could have 4 more hours of this! Most excellent presentation. It alone was worth the expense and travel. SHRM International Conference, Las Vegas

WHY COLOR ACCOUNTING WORKS Color Accounting is a teaching system that uses diagrams and logical colors to show graphically how accounting and business work, so your employees will make better decisions. We fully engage the participants with storytelling, physical materials and vivid models. They use their hands, their senses and their brains. It s wonderful. No boring slides, no power failures, no same old same old. The accelerated and adult learning means it all fits into one energizing day. Right from the start we want our participants to be thinking: Hmmm, this seems a little different to what I was expecting. It could even be enjoyable. Sure beats the tired old Finance For Nonfinancial Managers course I sat through before. I wish I d had this when I was doing my MBA. It finally makes sense. Lara Azzam, Wharton MBA graduate

THE MANY BENEFITS Your people will be able to: Manage a Profit & Loss statement Draw up a budget Understand your clients buying motives Improve financial controls Save costs Expand profit margins Increase shareholder returns Get departments talking with each other Align your teams around well-understood financial goals Promote financial leadership Communicate more powerfully with investors, regulator and partners We ve made this course compulsory for all the staff in our unit. Business Unit Head, Wall Street Bank

WHO USES THE NEW WAY OF TEACHING FINANCIAL LITERACY? Clients include banks, industrial companies, international NGOs, government agencies, law firms and startup incubators. It was apparent that the delivery of the Color Accounting workshop was enlightening to all who attended regardless of the level of accounting knowledge they had beforehand. Feedback from participants has been very positive and discussion of accounting concepts with them in the months since has been easier. In addition, placing the workshop content in the context of the working environment has assisted greatly in improving budget preparation and monthly financial management reporting. Everyone who has responsibility for Revenue and Expenditure outcomes should attend these workshops. Bruce Trackson, CFO, Queensland Building and Construction Commission

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING When people discover that learning about business finances can be easy and fun, their scepticism often turns to enthusiasm. The Color Accounting hands-on approach created energetic, interactive sessions that extended well beyond the classroom. Buckets, boards and business acumen all made their way back to the offices of participants and led to smarter decisions that we can see having an impact on our bottom line. Rick Zaporowski L&D Manager, NMC Caterpillar Word got out about Color Accounting and we have a long waiting list for the workshop. Our facilitators are now running two seminars a month for staff members. Louis Biggie Director, Learning Solutions, Talent Management and Organization Development, Johns Hopkins University Color Accounting has the advantage of showing how accounting works visually. We all tend to see problems and relationships more easily visually, so the Color Accounting approach takes advantage of how we learn most effectively. As such, I believe that it is of value to anyone from high school students to MBAs to business executives. We included the Color Accounting workshop in our annual management conference. We wanted to empower our managers to read and interpret financial statements. When they are accounting literate they are in fact business literate and able to make more-informed decisions, which in turn has an impact on customer service, and ultimately drives profits and shareholder value. Ian Leyenaar, CEO Namibia, First National Bank Paul Healy, Head of Accounting at Harvard Business School
