7 Brit Board - A Board Covenant for Prospective Board Members Preamble - As a leader of the Jewish youth, it is expected that NETTY board members will be exemplars of Judaism s highest ideals. In accordance with these ideals, the following are specific guidelines and expectations for every board member. I. Attendance It is expected that all officers will maintain consistent attendance at all NETTY sponsored events and meetings. We acknowledge that there will be conflicts, but maintain there must be a high level of commitment to NETTY. If a Board Member has more than 3 absences in a semester from scheduled meetings and/or events (to be defined by the board before June), or failure to adhere to published deadlines, the individual will have to meet with the advisor to determine his/her role on the board in the future. *One of the requirements of being a NETTY board member is to be a role model for the general membership of NETTY. While it is not required that NETTY board members attend all regional events, it is strongly suggested. Attending regional events involves a financial commitment. NETTY board members are eligible for need-based scholarships to help offset costs of attending local and regional events. II. Tasks Complete individual and group tasks in a timely & complete manner. Please ask for assistance from other board members and adult leadership. Remember that if you don t know how to do something, can t do something, or simply will not meet a deadline, your task involves the success of the whole youth group, thus tell someone in a timely manner so that the task will be completed for the sake of the youth group. Board members must bring their personal, family, and NETTY Calendar to every meeting. III. Communication Communication is a key element to NETTY s success. Communication is needed between fellow board members, adult leadership, NETTYites, and program venues and their staff. To ensure the success of our programming and cohesiveness of the NETTY board and youth group you must: * Reply to and text messages in timely manner (within 24 hours). * If you will be out of town, notification is to be provided to the board as soon as you know about it.

8 * RSVP and pay for events prior to the deadline * Speak positively to others about us and our programs The success of NETTY depends on you. By signing this Board Brit, you and your parents agree to comply with the expectations as listed above if elected to the NETTY board. NETTYite Signature Parent signature
