MISSION The Butterfly Foundation is dedicated to bringing about change to the culture, policy and practice in the prevention, treatment and support of those affected by eating disorders and negative body image. OBJECTIVES In using a collaborative approach to identify, build and facilitate strategic partnerships, to: Promote positive body image and associated healthy behaviours; Encourage hope and help-seeking through education and awareness; Advocate excellence and consistency in the culture of care and support for people with eating disorders, and encourage a better understanding of the complexities of eating disorders and the need for a compassionate, flexible and holistic response; Educate and connect the community, health providers, government and other support agencies to assist in excellence and consistency in the culture of care; Facilitate the development of effective models of prevention and care for people at risk of or with eating disorders; Operate a financially sustainable national foundation for future generations; Increase access for all sufferers and carers in Australia to effective treatment and support; and Ensure that everyone in the Butterfly team feels recognised for their skills and experience is fully engaged and supported in making their contributions and that the organisation is providing opportunities for professional growth and development.

3 1. Purpose of the Role The primary purpose of the role of the Primary Health Project Coordinator, NEDC is the delivery of stakeholder engagement activities and information dissemination, including facilitating professional development initiatives to primary health audiences, in particular Primary Health Networks (PHN) and other national bodies. This position will focus on arranging and delivering workforce and resource development, service and system capability and dissemination and consultation of evidence-based information. Reporting to the Manager, NEDC, this position is part of the National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) project team. The National Eating Disorders Collaboration is a national collaboration of organisations and individuals with an interest, expertise and experience in the promotion, prevention, early intervention, treatment and management of eating disorders. The primary purpose of the NEDC project is to bring together eating disorder stakeholders with experts in mental health, public health, health promotion, education, research and media as well practitioners and those with a lived experience of eating disorders to develop and maintain a nationally consistent approach to the prevention and management of Eating Disorders. 2. Accountabilities & Responsibilities Planning and Delivery of Engagement Activities and Events Plan and coordinate information dissemination, workforce development and service and system capacity building activities in consultation with Manager. Build relationships and engagement with key stakeholders, particularly within primary health and relevant peak body contexts and develop opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. Prepare and facilitate, in collaboration with Manager, high quality training initiatives for professionals and community members in consultation with PHNs and other key stakeholders. Present workshops in a variety of locations across PHNs through-out Australia. Undertake administrative functions, including arrangements for all engagement activities such as sourcing venues, catering and equipment; registrations administration and travel arrangements. Prepare, promote and conduct consultation forums and information dissemination opportunities for a wide range of primary health care stakeholders including liaison and follow up with local service providers. Project manage the delivery of a national members meeting (conference) annually in collaboration with other NEDC team members. Represent NEDC in a variety of contexts including to various agencies, professional networks, and at local community events. Resource Development Identify opportunities for new information resources in line with needs identified during primary health consultations, in collaboration with other team members. Source material for publications and for website content and resources, based on both internal and external sources, including research and evidence-based practice information. Prepare draft resources for review and approval.

4 Analysis and Reporting: Analyse feedback from participants and stakeholders and review materials and presentation methods as part of the ongoing evaluation and quality improvement processes within the NEDC. Contribute to needs analysis of particular stakeholder groups. Coordinate administrative actions relevant to appropriate accreditation activities. Report on workforce development and other activities to meet NEDC reporting requirements. Undertake other activities as required in conjunction with other members of the NEDC team. 3. Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge To be successful in this position, the post-holder will need to be able to demonstrate the values, and the essential qualifications, skills and knowledge listed below. In addition, the desirable skills, knowledge and behaviours listed will be beneficial to success in this position. Essential Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, education, community development or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating and presenting stakeholder engagement activities, education events and conferences, consultation and other initiatives. Strong interpersonal, relationship building, client engagement and communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent organisational capacity, including time management skills, high level of accuracy, attention to detail and proven ability to follow tasks through to completion. Demonstrated project management skills, including experience in developing, implementing and evaluating projects successfully and within agreed budget, scope and timeframes. Well-developed computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and online applications. A proven team player who can also work well autonomously. Understanding of the principles of evidence-based practice and their application in a health context. Ability to undertake extensive travel around Australia and work outside business hours as required. Must hold a full (unrestricted) Australian drivers licence and have access to a reliable car for workrelated travel when required. Desirable Experience and/or qualifications in adult education and workplace training and assessment highly desirable. Experience coordinating professional development accreditation administration activities highly desirable. Experience creating and delivering education and support materials, including experience in developing and facilitating e-learning initiatives such as webinars, blended learning, video streaming. Knowledge of and experience in accreditation policies and processes in relation to education/ training programs. Demonstrated experience working in a mental health setting or an area relevant to NEDC key stakeholders (e.g. education, general practice, allied health, primary health care).

5 Knowledge of Primary Health Networks (PHN) and their purpose. Experience in a similar not-for-profit or charitable NGO environment. An understanding of eating disorders and body image issues and their impact on mental and physical health. Flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances and willingness to go the extra mile. Other Requirements At all times: Conduct yourself in a professional manner. Follow/participate in occupational health and safety measures. Act considerately around the workplace and have regard for the well-being of fellow staff, volunteers and our service users. It is a requirement of all positions at Butterfly that the employee has a Working With Children Check clearance (pass). For some positions a National Police Check is also required. All our clinical staff are expected to have the ability to eat in a healthy, relaxed, flexible manner in the company of others, and to model an appropriate relationship with food. This position could require a significant amount of travel and some after-hours work.
