1 Job Description Learning Project Manager Grade: 9 Directorate: Marketing & Supporter Development Location: HQ, WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre or flexible / home based Reporting to: Learning Adviser Main function of post: To project manage WWT's HSBC funded Inspiring Generations project, with responsibility for planning, coordination and implementation of the project, including reporting and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Supervisory responsibilities: Functional supervision (but not line management) of several centre based staff who will undertake elements of work on the project. Hours worked: 30 hours per week Working pattern: Four days out of five, pm Main duties of the post Planning and implementation This role is for a fixed term until 31 December Implement project delivery plan, following timelines, resource requirements and budget. Revise plan as appropriate to meet changing needs Work closely with centres on achieving visitor and financial budgeting targets Lead on the delivery of all project tasks, and manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project at HQ, and centres where relevant Recruit and manage specialists and sub-contractors related to project deliverables Work closely with HQ Learning Adviser on all aspects of the project and to ensure that it dovetails with overall WWT formal learning national plan and objectives. Work with the communications team to ensure effective marketing of the Inspiring Generations project Work with relevant departments to maximise relevant contribution to wider WWT objectives

2 Communications and reporting Provide clear communication for WWT staff, volunteers and departments associated with the project Convene project board meetings and regular update meetings with key staff Proactively communicate about progress and successes of the project, internally and externally Collect and collate required information to work with Fundraising in writing and submitting funder reports Work with Fundraising and PR colleagues to ensure effective external project communications, including website updates and inputting to relevant social media activity, press releases and stakeholder events Budgets and forward planning Manage overall project budget, with input from other key staff Work closely with Fundraising and Finance on internal operational processes and procedures to ensure efficient budget management, including clear accounting Through WWT centre operations staff, input to setting centre financial and visitation budgets (connected to the scheme) Support the Learning Adviser with funding applications for future formal learning projects Monitoring and evaluation Implement monitoring and evaluation techniques to help measure qualitative and quantitative progress against project objectives Track project deliverables and report on progress to relevant WWT departments and staff In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post holder is required to perform any other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the supervisor shown above, from time to time. 5 General Notes This position will from time to time require work during some evenings, weekends and public holidays to meet the needs of the post. Whilst this post is/may be based at WWT Slimbridge, some travel may be necessary therefore a current driving licence is essential as is willingness to travel to other WWT Wetland Centres.
