1 Schools HR Advice and Support Service The ODBE Service The DBE s unique, unlimited HR Advice and Support service provides you with prompt, pragmatic and reliable advice by phone, and face-to-face. It is available as an additional service to schools through the ODBE Service Level Agreement. Now in our third year, we offer an even wider range of services and partners with no increase in prices. You have a choice of contracts, all providing excellent value for money. We will be continuing to develop the service as part of our flexible offer together with further partnerships and training. Why Use the ODBE HR Advice and Support Service? I am your dedicated Adviser giving professional, practical and friendly advice. This means you know who you will speak to and you are guaranteed continuity. You will also benefit from back-up a large HR team embracing different specialisms. I work across nine local authority areas and have all the skills and experience you would expect from your HR Advice provider. I will reflect your values and work with integrity and respect to find solutions that are right for your school in what can be very challenging situations. Being part of the ODBE I work closely with your School Link Adviser. This means I will get to know your school s needs really well and provide a joined-up approach specific to your needs. I can also access additional specialist support on your behalf as required. I am flexible and advise on anything from a tricky employee relations issue to drafting new policies. You can access the service by phone or or I m happy to come to your school. I can provide bespoke services to suit your school s needs and you can choose from a range of contract lengths. We guarantee to hold our very competitive prices for the duration of your contract. You can also benefit from the discounted services available from our carefully selected partners. I am an experienced HR adviser and a fully-qualified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered FCIPD). My HR expertise has been gained across a wide range of organisations in both the public and private sectors. These include education, Safeguarding and local government. 2 What s Included? Advice and guidance The HR Advice and Support service gives you extensive advice by , phone and face-to -face at your school. I will visit your school to support you with formal meetings with employees and unions. I will also work with you on more complex cases until they are resolved. 4 Academisation and New MATs Support for Transition and Growth I support Academy conversions, school mergers, new MATs and those taking on new Academies. This embraces set-up, TUPE, consultation, due diligence and contractual issues. New Multi Academy Trusts and Taking On Academies When your MAT forms or you consider adding new schools, I can help you from formulating proposals to completion. This is available at no additional cost, providing that our services are retained or renewed for 12 months from the date of transfer. Use me for back up at times of peak demand, projects or specialist expertise on complex cases. I can act as a sounding board and a second pair of eyes for proposals. I can assist with casework, strategy development, employee relations and consultation. I act as independent investigating officers where impartiality is essential and will attend meetings for misconduct, capability, etc. I can also support for your HR professional with complex issues and provide them with coaching and mentoring. Please contact me for further details. Occupational Health Specially negotiated rates with a leading, quality-assured provider offering a pay as you go service. This is particularly useful for schools who have an occasional need for OH advice and don t want to pay a fixed amount per employee each year. I integrate preemployment checks to provide a free initial review of the health declaration forms with a chargeable escalation procedure for those requiring specialist medical consideration. Staff Absence Insurance I have also partnered with the Schools Advisory Service for their award-winning Staff Absence Insurance. With one of the best ranges of cover, SAS give schools and staff a comprehensive range of proactive solutions. As part of our service you can access their services with a 10% discount. DBS Checks Our partner, APCS, provides fast and efficient DBS checks using their online process at a cost of just 3.99 plus VAT plus the DBS fee.

6 What will it cost? Annual subscription: The service gives excellent value for money covering all your advice needs throughout the year. We know budgets are tight so we have held prices for our HR Advice and Support service at just 30 per employee per year (based on the latest available headcount in post each year). There are no hidden charges, no tie-in or notice period. We will invoice you according to your wishes. Discounts are available please call Tim on for more information. Agreements are flexible and can run for either the financial year from April or the academic year from September. We can also offer part-years to suit you. Agreements are available for one or two years up to August 2019 to run alongside the SLA. Prices are guaranteed for the duration of the contract so no matter how long you sign up for it will be the same great value price throughout. All prices shown exclude VAT. Additional consultancy days are available at 475 per day. These can be used for the Standalone Services listed; for individual projects or for particularly complex individual issues. Schools that have not subscribed to the HR Advice and Support Service can also purchase these services with charges being agreed on a case-by-case basis.
