3 Dear Participant, FOREWORD The 3rd Annual Clean Audit Indaba 2016 held at the Durban ICC on the 3rd and 4th of December, highlights the need to draw a specific attention to the contract management for compliance in Service Level Agreements. This reflects a new focus on contract management across both the public and private sector. Effective procurement practice is becoming an increasingly important focus for government and all sectors at large. There is broad recognition that the growing emphasis on agreeing deals has not always flowed into consistent and effective management of post-award contracts. The audit guidelines of this conference are developed and designed to support a sound, consistent and effective approach to managing the diverse range of contracts. They deliberately focus on the activities associated with the operational phase of the contract, after the awarding and when is up and running. The delegates have pointed and acknowledged that successful contract management is significantly dependent on what happens during the tendering and award phases. The quality of the original specification included in the tender documentation, and the agreed terms and conditions, play a critical role in enabling the effective management of the contract. A clean audit does not suggest a well-managed contract but a well-documented process. This audit conference will not only support the application of good practice within a project, but also to support the development and application of an effective overall approach to contract management. Major Key aspects will include but not limited to: Audit Contract Establishment Monitor and Evaluate the Contract Management Approach Identifying and Managing Risks Audit Contract Management Roles and Responsibilities Ethical Business Conduct and Conflict and Interest Above all the Procurement & Contract Management team will drive the supply chain process leading to unqualified audits and enabling excellence in service delivery across sectors. Join us with your team as we contribute to a high profile seating of experts and colleagues in driving compliance in our finance and supply chain departments.
