2 Summary Internal Audit Plan and Indicative Timeline The following table sets out a summary of the internal audit work planned for 2014/15 and the indicative start dates for the relevant reviews. Ref Auditable Unit Corporate systems 2014/15 Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Scope 1.1 Key Financial Controls Review of key financial controls: purchase & payables, income & debtors, payroll, bank & cash and asset management 1.2 Property Transaction Monitoring Review of disposal and acquisition of property by during 2014/15 in accordance with the Scottish Government Health Directorate s Property Transaction Manual. 1.3 IT and Data - Trakcare PBE Review of the key clinical processes in place under Trakcare and compare actual delivery with expected delivery as per the business case. Corporate Governance 2.1 Governance Statement Assess the evidence provided by NHS Grampian to support the Accountable Officer s completion of the Governance Statement. 2.2 Business Continuity Planning Review of business continuity processes against best practice in place. The area of public health is to be excluded from the scope of this review. Operational Governance 2.1 Francis Report Assess the plans and procedures implemented as a result of the Francis report to ensure recommendations are actioned as required. Note: At the request of the Audit Committee this review will include clinical participation in leadership and management of the organisation 3.2 Major Incident Reporting Review of the clinical incident reporting (CIR) and adverse events (SAER) reporting arrangements in place at the Board and the action planning process in place.

The review will cover accountability, effectiveness of performance review meetings and assurance mapping. 3.4 Health and Safety Review of the health and safety arrangements which have been put in place since the last internal audit review in Acute Services 4.1 Emergency Care Centre PPE Assess NHSG s post implementation review in relation to the new 91million Emergency Care Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and how the lessons learned have been used to inform future phases of this project. Note: At the request of the Audit Committee this review will include whether the PPE has considered the impact of access to diagnostic tests on in-patient length of stay. Major Change Programmes 5.1 Project and Programme Assurance It is anticipated that this will cover Health and Social Care Integration. The scope of this review will be defined at a later date. Innovation 6.1 Promoting and embedding innovation It is anticipated that this will cover partnership working with universities and other third parties.. The scope of this review will be defined at a later date. Audit Management 7.1 Follow Up 7.2 Contract management
