1 INTERNSHIP CHECKLIST (For student personal use only) Task Handed in/done Register and pay for your internship Contact Career Center Specialist and search for an appropriate internship position from the database maintained by AAU or generally available on the market. Turn in the Job Description/Duties document to Career Centre Specialist for approval, make sure to include the tentative start and end dates of your internship. Once your internship has been approved, give the Internship Program Information for Organization document to your supervisor before you begin your internship. Turn in the Internship Agreement for Organization document to Career Center Specialist, signed by your supervisor with company stamp. Turn in your Internship Final Report electronically in MS Word format with the Front Page for Internship Final Report 1 week after the end of the teaching period of the semester in which the internship has been taken. Graduating student is required to submit the internship report and all required paperwork by the official end of the semester (last day of final examination week).

2 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM INFORMATION FOR ORGANIZATION General Requirements: Internship work must be professional in nature and non-clerical (such as answering telephones, filing). If possible, internships should be related to the academic area in which the student has career interest. The work may be performed at any time during the year Internships can be with private companies, non-government organizations, or governments. Internship Duties: Internship "work" shall be clearly defined in a job description. It is preferable that intern duties be varied and provide an opportunity for the intern to experience as many responsibilities as possible within the organization. AAU interns may be paid appropriately for their work. (Amount of pay, if any, shall be determined between the student and the company). Company/Organization Responsibilities 1. Training: Please ensure that students receive adequate training to competently perform assigned work. Such training should include: (a) an initial orientation regarding work procedures and protocol, available research materials and tools, and necessary background information related to the organization; (b) periodic meetings to answer questions and provide guidance and feedback regarding specific projects. 2. Internship Supervisor: Students must work under the supervision of an Internship Supervisor who is a regular employee of your firm/organization, or someone appointed by the firm/organization to assume principal responsibility for the work of the student. The Internship Supervisor should have significant experience related to the type of work involved in the internship. Please note! The Career Center Specialist from AAU will be in contact with you at the mid-point of the internship to ensure that all parties are satisfied. 3. Duties of the Supervisor: (a) Sign the Internship Agreement to act as the student's supervisor. (b) Plan work responsibilities that provide opportunities for the intern to apply classroom learning and include supervisory skill-building experience. (c) Ensure that the student is adequately trained to competently perform the work assigned. (d) Meet with the student periodically to review and evaluate his/her work performance. (e) Ensure that the student is able to complete the internship work within the agreed-upon time. Longer internships can be established if all parties are agreed. The minimum total number of hours to be worked is 135. (g) Submit the student Evaluation Report to the AAU Career Center Specialist via within 2 weeks after the internship is completed. AAU wishes to thank you for your participation. Learning that occurs during practical hands-on work is invaluable and simply cannot be replicated in the classroom.

5 Name of Organization: Address: Name of Supervisor: Phone No.: INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT FOR ORGANIZATION The aforementioned organization agrees to cooperate with Anglo-American University by providing a work internship for AAU student The student is expected to work a minimum total of 135 hours up to a maximum of 200 hours, over a period (usually) of an academic semester (15 weeks). If appropriate, the internship period can be extended with the agreement of all parties. Job Description: (How would this position be described in an advertisement?
