1 OPERATIONS DIRECTOR APPLICATION PACK

2 WELCOME Dear Candidate, We are at an incredibly exciting time in our 112 year history; launching vision and strategy to reach the 95% of young people who don t engage with church. To enable us to do this, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and talented individual who can lead our Operations Team and ensure we are a charity that is fit for purpose and able to deliver our mission. For the right person, this is an amazing opportunity to help shape Urban Saints future and share in this exciting journey. Urban Saints DNA lies within the 112-year-old, Crusader model of volunteer leaders gathering young people into groups and then loving, discipling and launching them into the world to make a difference for Christ. Currently we serve 1500 groups across the UK and Ireland and long to see many more young people engage with the Gospel through our network of exciting weekly groups, holiday camps and overseas discipleship missions. Today more than ever, young people are desperate for community, belonging and real rather than virtual adventure and, whether they know it or not, young people also crave the purpose and love that only Jesus can fulfil. Urban Saints is intentionally positioning itself to meet this need and will embark on the difficult challenge of expanding our network and planting new groups inside and outside of church. None of this would be possible without effective and robust operations across the organisation. With a reach of 85,000 young people nationally we depend upon a first-class Operations Team headed by an individual with a strong ability to develop systems for a growing organisation. The Operations Director will need the experience and aptitude to develop our processes, management structures and logistics; able to lead the Operations Team and ensure an efficient use of our resources. If you are ready for the challenge of joining our National Leadership Team and delivering excellent operations, we would be delighted to receive your application. God bless, Richard Langmead CEO PAGE 2

3 ABOUT US OUR VISION Urban Saints will be an effective disciple-making movement; reaching young people in every community in the UK and Ireland. We will achieve this by implementing a missional strategy which gathers, loves, disciples and launches children and young people of all backgrounds, that they might live like Jesus and be part of God s church; actively seeking lives that lead, serve, evangelise and change the world. cog users WORK DISPLAY IDENTITY GROUPS OVERSEAS DISCIPLESHIP TRIPS ENERGIZE We believe Urban Saints should be a diverse yet clearly identifiable movement, aiming to reach and disciple young people who are not yet part of the church, especially those who are most often overlooked. We will create a clear sense of belonging and identity; to be an Urban Saint will mean you are loved and you belong. Young people of all backgrounds will know our groups are a welcoming, exciting and safe Christian space. We believe that young people meeting in weekly groups, enjoying everyday adventures and being together on camps is a powerful way to change their lives and disciple them. We will develop new Urban Saints volunteerled groups across the UK and Ireland, inside and outside of the Church; supported by amazing leaders, great camps and first-class learning resources. For over 2,000 years, the adventure of pilgrimage has been a powerful part of a Christian s development. Every young person should have the opportunity to take part in an overseas discipleship trip that pushes boundaries, accelerates discipleship and engages them in justice whilst they learn and make friends. We will develop overseas discipleship trips, integrating these hand-in-glove with groups, schools and churches, and will focus on removing the barriers to participation. Energize is a firstclass online resource supporting Christian group leaders in the delivery of excellent Christian youth and children s work in the UK, Ireland and beyond. We will develop this digital platform with premium materials for use in independent groups, schools and churches, whatever the faith level of the young people. urbansaints.org/energize urbansaints.org/build PAGE 3
