2 RII40212 Cert IV in Surface Coal Mining (Open Cut Examiner) An OCE is an experienced coal mine worker who has undertaken appropriate study, developed specific operational skills and satisfied the Board of Examiners that they have the appropriate knowledge, skills and aptitude of being granted an Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency. The role of an Open Cut Examiner is a statutory role under the Queensland Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 Section 59. The Coal Train OCE program is a comprehensive training course and participants are required to have access to a workplace or have experience of a workplace in the resources and infrastructure industry. The course is designed to be completed within a 12 month period. RII40412 Certificate IV in Underground Coal Operations (Deputies) The Coal Train Deputies course covers the mandatory competencies listed below. Working with Industry leaders and experienced Trainers, The Coal Train Deputies Course is both thorough and professional. Upon completion of both theory and assessment components, course participants apply to the Board of Examiners to undertake an Oral Examination in relation to gaining your Deputy s Certificate. The Board requires that you have at least 3 years mining experience working in and around underground mines of a nature and standard acceptable to the Board. These 3 years must include: not less than 94 weeks obtained in underground coal mining activities, to include at least 36 weeks underground coal face mining experience. Up to 47 weeks obtained in and around any underground mining operations, if necessary. RIIRIS402A: Carry Out Risk Management Processes Trainer and Assessor TAE40110 (Partial-4 Units and Full 10 Units) On completion the Partial Trainer and Assessor Package (4 Units), course participants will have acquired the skills and knowledge to allow them to undertake the role of, and perform the duties of, a workplace trainer and assessor. The full qualification of 10 Units, is for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context or as a component of a structured VET program. Managers and Leadership Training This two day course has been structured to enhance a Manager s current practice and improve workplace performance and satisfaction. Psychometric tools are used to support this process, allowing participants to develop a greater understanding of themselves and others in the workplace. Course Structure: Individual Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Report Benchmark 360 Individual Report Leadership Skill Set Training Supervisor Training Package An outstanding one week program specific to training and upskilling Supervisors. All participants complete Supervisor and Risk Training. In addition to this, participants attend two evening sessions on group management, leadership and mentoring in the workplace. 3 Recognised Standard 11 Surface This skill set has been designed for participants wanting to obtain a Recognised Standard 11 Surface Induction which will allow access onto a mine site. RIICOM201A : Communicate in the workplace RIIGOV201A : Comply with site work processes/procedures RIIOHS201A : Work safely and follow OHS policies and procedures RIIRIS201B : Conduct local risk control RIIERR205A : Apply initial response First Aid RIIERR302A : Respond to local emergencies and incidents Duration - Three days Recognised Standard 11 Underground This unit has been designed for participants wanting to obtain a Recognised Standard 11 Underground Induction. RIIERR203A: Escape from hazardous situations unaided (underground only) Duration - One day Pre-requisite Recognised Standard 11 Surface Induction Recognised Standard 11 Upgrade This skill set has been designed for participants wanting to upgrade their Surface and/or Underground Induction to the new Recognised Standard 11 Induction. At the completion of the upgrade and your Standard 11 Workbook your requirements for continued access will be met. This new Recognised Standard 11 will include all updated industry changes/advancements that have taken place in the industry since the completion of your initial induction. Supervisor Training G1/G8/G9 (Old S1, S2, S3) Full and Refresher This skill set has been developed for participants wanting to obtain qualifications enabling them to undertake the role of and perform the duties and position requirements of a Mine Safety & Health Representative as detailed in the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 and the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act Valid for 5yrs and required by law to be completed by all those who are in supervisory positions within the mining industry. RIIRIS301A: Apply Risk management Processes RIIOHS301A: Conduct Health and Safety Investigations RIICOM301B: Communicate Information Work Safely at Heights This nationally recognised training program provides participants with the unit of competency required to achieve a Statement of Attainment which forms part of RII20209 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations RIIOHS204A Work safely at heights Enter and Work in Confined Spaces This nationally recognised training program provides participants with the unit of competency for Enter and Work in Confined Spaces. Participants who successfully complete this program will achieve a Statement of Attainment which forms part of RII20209 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations. RIIOHS202A - Enter and work in confined spaces RIIWHS401D - Supervise work in confined spaces This unit of competency describes skills and knowledge required to supervise work in confined spaces in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries. This unit is appropriate for those working in supervisory or technical specialist roles. $ Day BSB Certificate I in Business This qualification has been developed for individuals who wish to develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work. They may undertake a range of simple tasks under close supervision. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited. This is an entry level qualification. BSB Certificate II in Business This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context, working under direct supervision. Job roles include: Administration Assistant, Clerical Worker, Data Entry Operator, Information Desk Clerk, Office Junior and Receptionist.

4 BSB Certificate III in Business This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of competencies in a varied work context using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include customer service adviser, data entry operator, general clerk, payroll officer, typist and word processing operator. BSB Certificate IV in Business This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. Job roles include but not limited to Administrators and Projects Officers. BSB Certificate IV in Frontline Management This qualification reflects the role of individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. Typically they would report to a manager. At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes. BSB Certificate IV in Project Management Practice This qualification reflects the role of individuals who identify and apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. They may be members of a project team but with no direct responsibility for the overall project outcomes. They support project operations in one or more roles and under direction may also use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities. They take responsibility for their own outputs in terms of organisational and project quality requirements, and may have limited responsibility for the output of others. CPCCOHS1001A - Work safely in the construction industry This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry. The unit relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (ASCC 2007). $ hrs SITHFAB201 - Provide responsible service of alcohol Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is served or sold, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit of competency, therefore, applies to any workplace where alcohol is served or sold, including all types of hospitality venues, retail liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries. This unit applies to all levels of sales personnel involved in the sale, service and promotional service of alcohol in licensed premises. Those selling or serving alcohol may include food and beverage attendants; retail liquor sales persons; winery, brewery and distillery cellar door staff and supplier sales representatives. It also applies to security staff who monitor customer behaviour and to the licensee who is ultimately responsible for RSA management. $ hrs SITHGAM201 - Provide responsible gambling services Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos. The unit applies equally to frontline operational gambling personnel who operate with a limited level of autonomy and under some supervision and guidance from others. They would operate within the predefined organisational procedures and industry and regulatory authority codes of conduct. $ hrs

5 UETTDRRF06B - Perform rescue from a live LV panel and HLTCPR201B Perform CPR (LVR/CPR) This Competency Standard Unit covers the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the work place. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work. The CPR competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. $ hrs HLTFA311A - Apply first aid (QAS) This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. $ Day Visit Coal Train today to meet the team and view the centre.
