3 ENERGY MANAGEMENT Energy Surveys identify savings in your buildings Energise offers a full range of energy surveys, from basic walk arounds to full investment grade audits focusing on particular areas of high energy use. Surveys could look at lighting, air conditioning plant, space heating systems, ventilation, hot water systems, electrical equipment, building fabric, refrigeration and/or other industry specific equipment. A typical survey will identify around 10-15% energy savings, often through simple opportunities that can be implemented at low or no cost. We can provide you with a complete analysis of your energy use, or simply identify your energy waste. We offer over 100 different reporting options as standard, plus an unlimited number of bespoke reports designed for your particular requirements. Data can be collected directly from your suppliers or third party validators to be entered into our energy management system. We can also provide reports to help with energy forecasting and budgeting. Our reports are also great for communicating successful energy savings within the organisation and helping to identify further opportunities. 5 CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme started in April 2010 to encourage large, non-energy intensive organisations operating in the UK to reduce their carbon emissions. We offer a complete compliance service whereby we manage your organisation s participation in the Scheme including qualification, registration, reporting and maintaining your evidence pack, to give you peace of mind that you are meeting all of the requirements of the Scheme. Our service includes: CRC Management Service ensuring your compliance Phase by phase qualification analysis and registration Compilation of consumption data for preparing and submitting your Annual Reports Support with allowance forecasting and purchasing Ongoing maintenance of your evidence pack, including comprehensive reviews, internal audit of your compliance, plus assistance during external audits Ongoing updates on changes to the Scheme and advice on how changes affect your organisation CRC Evidence Pack Management records, reports and audit On-going updates on changes to the Scheme and how they affect your organisation Creation and on-going maintenance of your evidence pack in CRC Evidence Pack Manager Quarterly reviews of your participation to ensure your evidence pack and the Scheme Administrator are being kept up-to-date with any changes to your participation Audit assistance MANDATORY CARBON REPORTING Mandatory Carbon Reporting is a proposed set of rules* which will require all UK quoted companies to report their annual greenhouse gas emissions in their Annual Report. It is predicted that the first disclosure will occur in the organisation s first report published after 6th April 2013 and annually thereafter. The rules require affected organisations to report Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and any voluntary Scope 3 emissions. As with CRC we will be providing a complete service from start to finish. *At the time of printing (Aug 2012) why choose energise? We registered all of our clients by the Phase 1 deadline, all have met the reporting deadlines to date. Energy Performance of Buildings We can provide accredited assessors to ensure you comply with the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations, ensuring a cost effective and efficient solution to your Energy Performance Certificates, Display Energy Certificates or TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections requirements. Energy Performance Certificates ensure your compliance Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are required under the EU s Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations when a building of a certain size is sold, built or rented. Energy Performance Certificates and the accompanying Recommendation Report help owners and occupiers make their building more energy efficient and allow potential buyers and tenants to compare the energy performance of different buildings. The certificate gives a current performance rating (A-G) for the building, alongside an example of a new and existing building of the same type and what rating they would expect to achieve. The recommendations report lists opportunities for improving the design of the property in order to improve its current rating. Energise can provide a certified assessor qualified to the Level in which your property falls, offering a quick and cost effective solution to your nationwide EPC requirements. On completion of the EPC and Recommendation Report, your certificate will be lodged on the central Landmark database and the certificate and report will be sent to you for your records. You can also choose to view and manage all of your certificates through our online carbon management software, CO2manager (see p.12). 6 Energy Performance of Buildings Display Energy Certificates comply with EPBR or display for CSR Display Energy Certificates (DECs) are required for buildings occupied by public authorities and institutions that provide services to the public over 1,000 metres squared (at the time of writing) which are frequently visited by the public. Energise uses experienced and fully accredited Energy Assessors to carry out DECs, ensuring the highest quality of service and professional competency. The Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations requires all qualifying buildings to display to the public an A3 certificate indicating the energy performance of the operation of the building. Advisory Reports are also issued to provide guidance on areas for improving the energy performance of the building. Failure to display a valid Display Energy Certificate or hold an up-to-date Advisory Report could result in your organisation being fined. To produce your DECs, one of our consultants will work with you to establish the number of buildings covered by the legislation and gather the necessary data to complete the Display Energy Certificate or Advisory Report. Once the data has been processed, the certificates will be provided in A3 for display on site and lodged on the Central Register. why choose energise? TM44 Inspections compliance for your air conditioning systems Air Conditioning Inspections are intended to improve the efficiency of your air conditioning equipment, leading to cost, energy and carbon savings through improved performance and control. Our Air Conditioning Inspections typically pay back in between months. What does an inspection entail? Inspections look at all aspects of the air conditioning system: Adequacy of records: maintenance and repair; asset lists Sizing of the kit in comparison to design intent and current use Appropriate control of the system: temperature and time Suitable controls Evaluation of the system: location, condition, effectiveness A qualified inspector will visit your site to inspect the necessary quantity of systems in each qualifying building. You will then be provided with a report on the condition of your systems with recommendations for improving their energy efficiency. You can also choose to view and manage all of your certificates through our online carbon management software, CO2manager. All of our assessors are accredited by Government approved bodies, where they are audited regularly to ensure they comply with the high standards set. 8 co2manager.co.uk CRC Evidence Pack Manager manage your evidence online The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme requires full participants to maintain an evidence pack containing all of the information that they use to prove their compliance with the scheme. The evidence pack will be used by the Scheme Administrators to audit each participant s compliance at least once during each phase. Evidence packs must therefore be up-to-date, accurate and easy to understand. CRC Evidence Pack Manager, a module of CO2manager, is an online tool which helps full participants in the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme to manage their evidence requirements. We offer a fully managed service where we input and update all relevant historical and on-going data. This will require regular contact with you to ensure we are being informed of all relevant changes to your organisation and energy consumption.
