1 Employee of the Month & Year Program Employee of the Month Program Certificated & Classified Staff The Employee of the Month program is intended to provide frequent and ongoing recognition of our stellar staff throughout the Robla School District. It is important to honor and recognize those who exhibit a commitment to exemplary performance, have an inherent tendency to serve beyond the call of duty, and who foster a positive learning environment for the students we serve. Every year, 11 staff members from the certificated and classified ranks will be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Robla Family. This group will then be eligible for the Employee of the Year program. Nomination Process Nominations will occur each month school is in session: August June A reminder will be sent to all staff by the 1 st of each month Nomination forms will be available on the District Website or a hard copy may be obtained from the District Office or any School Office Nomination forms are to be submitted by to: recognition@robla.k12.ca.us or by hard copy to the District Office All nomination forms are due by the 10 th of the month, or the first business day immediately following should that date fall on a holiday or weekend Selection Process and Eligibility The selection committee shall include the following members: Permanent Members: Superintendent and Chief of Personnel Rotating Members: Rotating members shall participate for two school years. 1 Member of the Robla School Board 1 Certificated Administrator 1 Classified Administrator 2 RTA Representatives 2 CSEA Representatives A summary sheet of all nominations and the nomination forms will be uploaded by the 13 th of the month to a shared Google Drive folder for committee review Committee members will complete a scoring rubric for each nominee Scoring rubrics are to be ed to the recognition@robla.k12.ca.us account no later than the 3 rd Friday of each month Committee members meet on the 4 th Monday of each month in the from 3:30 4:00 pm to finalize the selection of the top nominees for both certificated and classified staff Eligible nominees shall not have a pattern of poor attendance Eligible nominees will have positive marks on their most recent evaluation and will not currently be on a performance improvement plan All eligible nominees will remain in the pool through the end of the recognition year and may be selected as employee of the month at a later date than when the original nominations were received based on the scoring rubrics Recognition of Staff Selected Employees of the Month will receive a surprise visit from the Superintendent and/or the Chief of Personnel to present selected nominee with announcement of their award Recognition in the Robla News (subsequent month) and on website Invite selected nominees to be recognized by the BOT at the first business meeting in the subsequent month brief accolades presented about each person and give an award certificate

2 Employee of the Month & Year Program Employee of the Year Program Certificated & Classified Staff The Employee of the Year program will align with the guidelines set by the California Department of Education (CDE) and if nominees meet the requirements, the District will submit their nomination. Selection Process Certificated Staff who were named employee of the month between April through March will be considered for Employee of the Year Classified Staff who were named employee of the month between January through December will be considered for Employee of the Year The selection committee will assess, rank and select the final nominee for Employee of the Year through an objective process The selection committee will observe each employees work, interview each nominee and finally score an essay written by the nominee Each of the three areas will be graded using a specific rubric, the nominee scores will be tallied and a winner declared If the winner meets CDE s criteria, the District will submit a nomination for the employee through the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) Recognition of Staff Selected Employees of the Year will be recognized at the Annual End of Year RTA/CSEA Banquet celebration and the Annual Employee, Student, and Parent Recognition Dinner hosted by the Board of Trustees. The winner will be announced at one of these events. Recognition in the Robla News (subsequent month) and on website Invite each Employee of the Year to speak briefly at the Annual Welcome Back Event in August Further recognition follows a submission to SCOE/CDE

The new employee of the year recognition program will commence in CSEA The employee of the year program for will not occur; however, the new employee of the year recognition program will commence in With the new program, CSEA Nominees may be eligible to move on to the County and/or State competition.

4 Employee of the Month Nomination Form The Employee of the Month program is intended to provide frequent and ongoing recognition of our stellar staff throughout the Robla School District. It is important to honor and recognize those who exhibit a commitment to exemplary performance, have an inherent tendency to serve beyond the call of duty, and who foster a positive learning environment for the students we serve. Any staff member may nominate another staff member during any nomination window throughout the year by completing the form below and returning it to the District Office. Rate based on the evidence provided by the nominator on the form(s) and base your scores on what information was given. Add the total score for each category and place it in the field in the lower left corner of the category section. 0 = No evidence provided 3 = Above Average & Notable 1 = Regular Duty; Anticipated Scope 4 = Compelling & Extraordinary 2 = Good Work, but Average in Scope Stellar Work Performance & Commitment to Excellence The evidence presented in the nomination form is exemplary of an employee who regularly performs at a level above what is typical of his or her peers. The employee distinctly and consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellent in his or her work by always meeting or exceeding expectations of peers and/or management level staff. Employee regularly demonstrates the ability to perform thorough and accurate work, with a tendency to reach beyond the average outcome for the task at hand. School/Community Involvement The employee consistently takes an active leadership role in planning or serves on committees that plan school activities. He/she not only helps to plan the activity but also actively participates in the event. The employee distinctly and actively reaches out and encourages community members to take an active role in helping foster a positive school community for our students. Employee regularly reaches out to the community at-large to foster and/or promote the positive initiatives Robla SD brings to enhance our students education. Perform far above their normal scope of work The employee took extraordinary measures to help ensure that the needs of our school community were met. This may be a one-time standalone event or an ongoing trait. The employee willfully reached out to a colleague in need and performed an act or acts which ensured that needs were met. Employee regularly performs adjunct duties willingly and/or shares and implements creative ideas for the good of the school/department; this fosters a positive environment for all. Exemplary Traits/Talents/Skills The employee regularly implements a special trait/talent/skill as a part of their regular routine, and it has a large impact on the employee s performance. The employee s special trait/talent/skill has a positive effect on students, staff and/or the community. The employee s special trait/talent/skill adds to the culture of the school or department s environment. Note: For nominees rated in more than one category, the average of rated categories will be used for his or her total score. This will be calculated when the Chief of Personnel compiles the nomination list.
