In a global financial environment marked by major shifts, particularly in terms of regulation, AXA demonstrates the power of its business model. Our finance experts play a strategic role in our success. Finance is responsible for: devising a strategy, planning, analyzing and controlling all financial aspects of the business. Working on the strategic themes that are central to our business lines ranging from product design to investment decisions. Risk Management > The Risk Management teams identify, assess, supervise and manage the financial, insurance and operational risks within the organization and work to safeguard corporate solvency. Risk is an inherent component of the insurance business. In connection with our multiple global business lines, risk management plays a strategic role in determining the level of risk that is acceptable, which is the ultimate guarantor of long-term profitability and corporate viability. Our Enterprise Risk management is ranked among the best in the world according to Standard & Poor s (1). Risk teams are responsible for: identifying, analyzing, anticipating and quantifying all internal and external risks (for example, those related to products, financial risks, natural disasters, emerging risks such as pandemics, etc.). 10 DEPARTMENTS HIRING ON THE PROGRAM IN 2014 Actuarial Property & Casualty/Life & Savings > Actuaries help the business understand and manage the financial and insurance risks which are underlying in the insurance industry. Through the application and analysis of models and tools, they are able to give a deeper understanding of the risks we insure and help meet our overall business objectives. Our actuarial teams in Property and Casualty (P&C) and Life and Savings (L&S) work as business partners with our product management and underwriting teams. They contribute their valuable knowledge and insights into market opportunities, pricing excellence and customer buying behaviour. They also stay in close contact with the actuaries in our operating entities around the world, and with other financial experts within the Group, such as Group Risk Management and financial departments. The P&C insurance operations within the AXA Group are carried out by around 30 entities operating in more than 25 countries and employing more than 40,000 people. It represents a turnover of more than 45% of the results of the Group. The Life and Savings business encompasses a broad range of life insurance, savings, and personal protection, retirement and health products. With 40 million customers, it operates in more than 30 countries and represents a turnover of 55% of the results of the Group. -09-
