2 1 HOW TO GET STARTED Congratulations on signing up for South Africa s only (B-BBEE) Scorecard Calculator App. Here are some quick easy steps to get you started: 1. Login with the same details as supplied in the registration process username and password. 2. You will be taken to the first page of the App. Now select the size of the company you wish to measure: a) Medium Enterprise (below R50 million annual turnover), or b) Large Enterprise (R50 million and more annual turnover). 3. Please fill in the details of your organisation here referred to as the Measured Enterprise. 4. At the bottom of the page click NEXT and fill in the requested information. Remember to enter your revenue and other relevant figures according to the financial year end period you want to measure. At the end of this page click SAVE. Please make note of the following; Generate PDF button used to generate a report, can be used for each element individually and for your final scorecard. When you have finished working on the app, always make sure you go to the top right of the screen and click MENU then LOGOUT when you are done editing, this will allow you to login with another device later. When changes are made to a scenario, perhaps check its impact on the priority element by clicking MENU, REPORTS, PRIORITY ELEMENT. You may complete a scorecard with actual figures to keep an up to date score or predicted figures for scenarios for strategic decisions. At the end of each element, once your element has been successfully saved, the app will generate a report detailing your input data at the top. The calculation results and the score will appear at the bottom of this screen. 2

3 1 HOW TO GET STARTED The Generate PDF button, generates your report in a PDF format, which can then be printed and taken to your (B-BBEE) strategy meeting for discussion. Remember that you can go back and make changes to your input data as often as you wish. You can navigate to any element you would like to populate, by always clicking on MENU and then selecting the element you wish to work on. Input data:- Equity Ownership - Ownership of the Measured Entity For the following elements you can choose to either input the data directly into the app, or download an xl spreadsheet where you capture all your information: Management Control - Management structure within the Measured Entity Skills Development - Expenditure towards developing skills of individuals Preferential Procurement - Procurement from B-BBEE complaint suppliers Enterprise and Supplier Development - Expenditure towards development, sustainability and financial and operational independence of other entities Socio-Economic Development - Expenditure towards organisations/individuals to facilitate sustainable access to the economy The Import button Click on the IMPORT tab. Download the spreadsheet and save it on your computer. Use the drop down boxes to populate the spreadsheet. Save the spreadsheet and then import it back into the app. It will automatically calculate your score. By keeping the spreadsheet updated on a regular basis, you will be able to instantly access your latest B-BBEE Score. 3

4 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE Once you have entered your organisation s details, you will be taken to your selection of elements; (i) Equity Ownership a) Once you have selected Equity Ownership, you will be taken to the following screen. Complete all applicable fields, click NEXT once you have come to the end of each screen. Once complete, click SAVE. b) You will be presented with a report for Ownership as per the data you have entered. 4

5 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (ii) Management Control NB: Remember you can use the import button or capture your information directly onto the app. a) Once you have selected Management Control, you will be taken to the following screen. Complete all applicable fields. Once complete, click SAVE. 5

6 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE b) You will be presented with a report for Management Control as per the data you have entered. (iii) Skills Development NB: Remember you can use the import button or capture your information directly onto the app. a) You will be presented with the first screen of this element which you will need to answer depending on whether or not you have met the requirements. 6

7 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE b) If you have selected Compliant, you will be presented with the following screen to complete your EMP201 figures. Once complete, click NEXT. c) Thereafter you will be presented with screens to populate with your Skills Development expenditure. At the end of each screen, click NEXT and finally SAVE on the final screen. d) You will be presented with a report for Skills Development as per the data you have entered. 7

8 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (iv) Preferential Procurement NB: Remember you can use the import button or capture your information directly onto the app. a) Once you have selected Preferential Procurement, you will be taken to the following screen. From here, you may navigate to the different sections of Preferential Procurement. Procurement spend and Less exclusions open different sections to complete your financial information to calculate your target for this element. b) Clicking ADD SUPPLIER will take you to the following screen where you can add a supplier, their (B-BBEE) certificate status and your total spend with this supplier. Once complete, click SAVE. You will then be taken back to the first screen of this element. You may repeat this process for each of your suppliers. 8

9 2 MEDIUM ENTERPRISE c) Clicking VIEW SUPPLIERS will take you to the following screen where you can view all of the suppliers you have entered. When you select a supplier, you may edit any details of this supplier or delete the supplier. From this screen, you may also import suppliers. d) If you choose IMPORT SUPPLIERS, you may download a template and populate this template with all suppliers and their details and automatically add suppliers onto your scorecard. e) Once you have completed populating all applicable fields, click save on the first screen of this element. You will be presented with a report for Preferential Procurement as per the data you have entered. 9

Complete all applicable fields, be sure to go into each drop down for the different sections. Once complete, click SAVE. b) You will be presented with a report for Enterprise and Supplier Development as per the data you have entered. 10

Once complete, click SAVE. b) You will be presented with a report for Enterprise and Supplier Development as per the data you have entered. 11

You must now go to the top left hand of the page and start capturing the information for each level of management e.g. Executive Directors, Other Executive Management, Senior Management etc. per sub-race group. c) Each button opens the applicable management level and allows you to input values for each sub-race group and gender. At the end of each screen you will need to click SAVE and it will take you back to the report so that you can begin capturing your next level of management. 14

15 3 LARGE ENTERPRISE (iii) Skills Development NB: Remember you can use the import button or capture your information directly onto the app. a) You will be presented with the first screen of this element which you will need to answer depending on whether or not you have met the requirements. b) If you have selected Compliant, you will be presented with the following screen to complete your EMP201 figures. You must now go to the top left hand of the page and start capturing the information for each category/type of skills development expenditure per sub-race group. e) Each button opens the applicable category/type of skills development expenditure and allows you to input values for each sub-race group and gender. At the end of each screen you will need to click SAVE and it will take you back to the report so that you can begin capturing your next category/type of skills development expenditure. 16

21 4 REPORTS The Reports tab should be selected if you wish to either see your whole scorecard report or you wish to check your status as an Empowering supplier or whether you have reached the subminimums necessary to not be discounted one level on the scorecard. If you wish to make adjustements to your Revenue, Net Profit after Tax etc. you will need to go to the Edit Scorecard Tab.
